Call me a typical girly girl, but I just love when my nails and lipstick match. I don't know why but it satisfies me immensely and I just love the way the colours pair off beautifully. As summer is the season where I tend to wear non stop pink on my lips I thought today I would put together a few of my favourite pink nail polishes that are sure to match any pink lipstick in your collection.

MUA Lush Lilac

Starting with the lightest shade, this pastel nail polish from MUA is actually not a pink but a very muted lilac. I just love these kind of polishes that have a slight hint of colour but lean more towards a white shade. I think for summer anything that sort of resembles a white nail polish really enhances a tan and gives any manicure a really clean and polished look. I love wearing pink tinted lip glosses in the summer, so this polish pairs with them beautifully.

Nail Girls Colour

It really bugs me when a nail polish doesn't have a name and this one from Nail Girls is one of them, but the actual colour is gorgeous and its one my favourite type of pinks to wear. I would describe this colour as a bubblegum pink; It's soft, understated but girly at the same time. I wear a lot of lipsticks in this kind of colour, especially Mac's Chatterbox and Lovelorn and this shade compliments them both beautifully.

Nails Inc Gel Effect Polish - Covent Garden Place

When it comes to high shine nail polishes, the ones that create that gel effect are great. I'm a big fan of the Nails Inc Gel polishes as they are super shiny and give my nails that really polished professional manicure look. I think this shade is such a beautiful bright bold pink that is really fun to wear in the summer and its one of those pinks that looks killer with a tan. I wore this a lot when I was on holiday in Turkey and it just made me feel really sun kissed. I love matching this shade to Mac's Impassioned as it's a match made in heaven.

Barry M - Fuchsia

Everyone needs a really good fuchsia pink in their nail collection and one of my favourites has to be this one from Barry M. When it comes to nail polish Barry M are without a doubt my favourite brand.  I love wearing a deep fuchsia pink lipstick on a summers evening out so I often reach for this nail polish to complete my look.

Sinful Colours - 920

Now before your wonder and your mind gets carried away, I would just like to point out now that I do not own or wear any lipstick in this bright bold highlighter pink shade! However I adore this nail polish so much that I couldn't leave it out of this post. This crazily pink nail polish is one I've had in my collection for sometime and it only makes an appearance during the summer months. I love this polish when I'm looking to be a little bit more fun with my nail colour, although for me it's a little too daring for everyday especially with work. However I do love to rock this colour on my toe nails. I find you can be a little more adventurous when it comes to choosing your toe nail colour! Again this colour looks great if I have a tan, for some reason it doesn't work for me when I'm feeling a little pale - But overall I love it.

I feel like everyone has a preference in nail colour choices in the summer and as you can see my go to shades are pinks with a mix of bolds and pastels. I would love to know what your summer nail choices are and what your favourite nail polish is right now? Let me know in the comments.

Lots of Love

May Favourites

This month I've been really concentrating on my hair and working on getting it in the best condition it can possible be (keep your eyes pealed for an updated hair care routine soon) and this 'Headshot' shampoo and conditioner from Catwalk have worked amazingly in my hair. If you have long hair like me then you will know that keeping your locks looking healthy can be a right nightmare, especially when it comes to split ends and breakage - Seriously, longer hair means more knots and tangles, which means a lot of extra TLC. This shampoo and conditioner duo is a reconstructive treatment for you hair and this is all I've used since receiving this in my goody bag at the 'Northampton Blogger Meet'. Not only does it smell incredible, but it makes my hair shiny, glossy and my hair actually feels a lot thicker since using it, which is a great added bonus. As for slit ends, some of them nasty ones are still there, but this shampoo and conditioner has done a lot to smooth them out and make the tips of my hair a lot less damaged looking.

I am in love with this thick smoothie like body lotion from Lush, its incredible. If you've been reading my blog for some time you will know by now I love body butters and it has to be one of my favourite skin care products to use; This means I've tried and tested a lot of them. Out of all the body butters, lotions and potions that I've tried 'Sympathy For The Skin' has shot right up there into my top 5 moisturisers, I seriously love this stuff and being a big Lush fan I can't believe it's taken me this long to stumble upon it. I wont give too much away as I have a full review of this coming up very soon, but my banana scented body cream leaves my skin baby soft and is just heavenly to use... LOVE it!

Summer is all about the shimmer, and the warmer weather definitely gets me all excited about trying out new highlighters. However the only highlighter that I reached for during May was this gorgeous champagne shimmered one from MeMeMe; Just a few dabs of this on my cheekbones was enough to make my skin look all glowy and radiant, which is exactly what you need when your going for a bronzed beach goddess look, I wish! What I really love about this highlighter is how easy it is to apply and blend into your skin, you only need the tiniest amount of product to make it look as though the sun is beaming down onto your cheekbones. If you would like to see a full review of this product, including swatches you can find the link here.

The end of April saw me run out of my beloved Mac eye pencil in smolder which was without a doubt the best eyeliner that I've ever tried in my life, it's amazing! Being one to not dwell on things too much, I went shopping and picked up the Bourjois Khol & Contour eyeliner in the colour 'Noir Expert' which is a soft black shade; usually I prefer my eyeliners to be ultra black, but unfortunately they had sold out of this shade in my Boots and I thought a softer black would be more suitable for summer as its a little less harsh. Well after using this thoroughly throughout May, I can honestly say I've not missed my Mac pencil all that much and its been refreshing using something new and different. This is such a great eye pencil from Bourjois, but then again would you expect anything less from this brand? The pencil glides on so smoothly without dragging along your skin, is superb for blending out and works great on your waterline too, making it a great all round eyeliner.

Since receiving this Barbie pink nail polish in the May edition of the Love Me Beauty Box its been the only colour my nails have seen. Not only is the colour gorgeous and perfect for spring but it looks so pretty and girly on your nails. When it comes to nail polish I really love these milky sort of shades that look really opaque on your nails. I had never heard of 'Nail Girls' before, but the application of this polish is really smooth and it dies pretty quickly too, which makes it a winner for me.

Nanshy Angled Detailer Brush*

I have been loving this angled brush from Nanshy during the last couple of weeks, another item that I received in my goody bag from the 'Northampton Blogger Meet'. I had heard of the brand and a lot of rave things about their brushes, but had never gotten around to trying any. I have to say this angled brush has really made a difference to the way I sort my eyebrows out in the morning and makes applying the powder a breeze. Don't get me wrong I have other angled brushes in my collection, but this one just seams to be perfect for me in terms of size and the bristles not being too flimsy but soft at the same time. I love the white handle of the brush too, it almost has this pearlesque finish which makes it really pretty and stand out from my other makeup brushes. I'm definitely making it my mission to now add some more Nanshy brushes into my collection, I've been browsing and they all look as great as this angled detailer one.

So that's everything that made it onto my favourites post this month, I would love to know what you're go too products have been and if any of your favourites match mine. Be sure to let me know in the comments.

Love Me Beauty Box || May Edition

Love Me Beauty Box* £12.95 (Including P&P)

For the last year or so beauty boxes have become quite the thing and after trying and testing my fair share, I've finally had the pleasure of trying out the Love Me Beauty Box, which is a beauty box with a special twist. Whilst its great having the element of surprise with most beauty boxes, Love Me Beauty offers us a choice of three menus to choose from, each menu slightly different so that it caters to more to our own personal taste and more importantly we have a little more say in what beauty products come though the door - I absolutely love this concept as nobody wants to receive something that they are just never going to use. If there really isn't anything in the beauty box that takes your fancy, you can always choose to skip a month; In my opinion this makes the Love Me Beauty Box the ultimate beauty box! I was so excited when my May beauty box arrived and for those of you wondering I went for menu 3.

Nail Girls Nail Polish 'Nude Pink' RRP £13.50

There's no doubt about it, I love nail polish so this one from Nail Girls was the first thing that caught my attention in this month box. As you can see from the picture it really didn't take me long to get it on my nails. I've never heard of the brand Nail girls before, but I've had this polish on my nails for a few days now and I'm really impressed; The polish applied streak free, is really glossy and has a lovely creamy formula. What I love most about this polish has to be the colour, its a true bubble-gum pink, ever so girly and perfect for spring/summer.

Raw Skincare Natural Lip Balm 'Rescue Me' RRP £1.98

Lip balms are one of those beauty products I'm forever picking up, I think at least every handbag I have has about two or three lip balms floating around in them anyone else do this too? So I've welcomed this natural lip balm from Raw Skincare into my lip balm stash. This one is tasteless and colourless, and has a slight waxy smell to it, which doesn't make it the most exciting lip balm; However it does make my lips feel very soft and the actual lip balm has a really smooth but rich formula which makes it really nice to use.

Suti Trial Pack 'Cleanse Balm, Purity Balm & Fabulous Foot Balm' RRP £6.50

Out of all the beauty products in this months box, this Suti trial pack is probably the one I'm most excited about trying and getting my beauty mitts stuck into. I love trying out new products, especially ones that include words such as 'cleanse' and 'balms'. These little tester pots from Suti came beautifully packaged and I can't wait to see how well they work, especially the 'foot balm'  as I need to start prepping my feet for summer.

GO Stationary Pocket Notebook Set 'Meadow Bird' RRP £5.00

I'm one of these girls who loves stationary, especially ones that have pretty patterns on and are handbag sized. I was a little surprised to see these notebooks included in the Love Me Beauty Box as this is much more of a lifestyle item rather than beauty. However this trio of notebooks will fit into my lifestyle perfectly; I love making notes, especially for blogging so I just know these notebooks will be well loved.

Tea Pigs 'Super Fruit' RRP £0.65 (per bag)

Whilst this fruit tea from Tea Pigs has been packaged lovely and looks really appealing with the pink fruit lady displayed on the front, this is the one item in the Love Me Beauty Box which doesn't appeal to me at all. I have a big thing about drinking hot drinks and being able to drink from a mug weird I know; So there is just no way that I would be able to drink this tea. Luckily for my sister, she spotted these right away, knows that I wont use it and claimed it for herself. I always hear people raving about Tea Pigs, so I'm confident that she will enjoy her fruit tea. This is a great lifestyle product if your a tea lover, but its just not for me sadly.

So that's everything in the May edition of the Love Me Beauty Box, overall I'm loving it apart from the tea; I have a feeling that I will pretty much enjoy using everything in my box. The total cost of all goods received comes just under £30.00 so seeing as you only pay £12.95 I think its really great value and as I mentioned before, I love that you get the choices of three menus. If your thinking about starting a Love Me Beauty Box subscription be sure to take a little look at Love Me Beauty website.

What do you think of the contents of this beauty box? Have you ordered one? If you did I would love to know what menu you chose?

Lots of Love
