Boardmasters 2014 || Young, Wild & Free

Hi guys, sorry I've been a bit missing in action over the last few weeks or so, things have been a bit crazy in the world of sunshine and sparkle, but today I really wanted to get up a lifestyle kind of post and just sit down and chat to you all. A few weeks ago you may have seen a video of mine go up which saw me rambling on about all the best beauty essentials that would be great to take away to any festival or camping trip. I was so excited about this video as it was only a few days after that I took the trip to Newquay for a bit of Boardmasters fun!

It's was my crazy fun filled weekend at Boardmasters that has seen me get a little behind with my usual blogging schedule, not only was I away for five days, but it took best part of the following week returning from Newquay to fully recover from the weekend then following that I've been super busy with work and then caught my first cold of the year... Booo.  Seeing as I had the best time, I thought I would write up a post and give you all a little insight as to what me and my best girls got up too. I had planned on getting up more of a 'What I Wore' post as I had planned some pretty amazing outfit for my trip, but the weather was so bad and the majority of the time I was layering up on my knitwear. Actually the weather was so bad that the last day of the festival was cancelled (thanks hurricane Bertha), despite having to pop down our flowery tipi decorated in solar paneled fairy lights early hours on Sunday morning, we decided to stay and had our own mini party which all added to the festival fun. Can I just add our tipi (AKA MILF TENT) was the talk of the whole campsite, Stacey did an amazing job at taking camping to that glamping level, we had a blow up chair/bed, another blow up bed, posh pink cutlery and glasses, a table and the fairy lights were the perfect touch. 

One thing that I think that makes Boardmasters pretty special is its chilled atmosphere and the fact that its right near the beach gives it those 'good kinda vibes', my friends and I saw some pretty amazing acts including Chase & Status and Snoop Dog. I honestly wasn't expecting much from the ledgened that is Snoop, but he was actually amazing and turned out to be one of the highlights of the weekend. Aswell as singing and dancing  away to some awesome acts, the dance tent is where it's at and that place always brings out the mini raver in me - I don't know why but dancing in wellies makes raving all that more fun.

I thought it would be pretty disgusting as with any festival not being able to shower for a few days, but on the Saturday we had a surfing lesson booked and I honestly had the best of time. Guys, surfing is really difficult, whenever I see it on TV people make it look so easy, but battling the waves is tricky business and there are no graces about it whatsoever, the words 'dudes you girls have the best wipe outs ever' was used by the instructor, just to give you all some idea at how bad we was. I was pretty pleased that I managed to stand up on the board on my own just the once without any help, it was a good moment, ha. 

It was pretty funny smuggling in all our alcohol as there is a limit as to what you can take in at Boardmasters, but we managed to sneak everything though, the only thing that got confiscated was our dry shampoo!! Can you believe it, the one beauty essential that is a must, is not allowed into a festival because its an aerosol? Have any of you found this with other festivals lest me know? However my trusty Batiste was in the bottom of my bag and went un-noticed!

I honestly had the best time and for a good few weeks I had major Boardmasters blues, but it looks as though it's in the pipeline again for next year and I cannot wait! My besties and I had the best time, saw some old friends and made some new ones and partied the weekend away, it was perfect and so many memories were made. Argan Dew Hair Oil & Replenishing Hair Mask || Review

Argan Dew Hair Oil & Replenishing Hair Mask* (Samples)

If anyone asks me my top tips on getting lovely healthy hair and how I manage to get long locks, I always tell them that I swear by a good hair mask and most importantly hair oil - I honestly couldn't live without it. Since I started blogging I've tried and tested out my fair share of oils and lotions for my hair and recently I've come across the brand 'Argan Dew' who are new to the UK and offer an amazing hair oil and hair mask. I've been lucky enough to try out and test the samples that you see in the pictures and I have to say I've been so impressed and I feel as though I'm pampering my hair every time I've used them.

Starting with the replenishing hair mask, this creamy thick deep conditioner that has a pretty pearlesque look to it and oh my gosh guys it smells incredible, as soon as I opened this I was taken back at just how gorgeous this treatment it. I can't quite pinpoint the smell, but it has a kind of professional salon kind of smell to it. Not only does this treatment smell lovely on its own, but I found that it transferred onto my hair really well. 

As for the actual treatment itself, my hair feels so amazing once I've used this. I found that it was great at detangelling my hair (which is always my biggest nightmare whenever washing my hair) and it made my hair feel so silky smooth, it was amazing. I honestly just had the kind of hair that needed to be swished when I used this. I think that the reason this hair mask works so well is because it contains Argan oil which really is your hairs best friend. Not only did I get a really good hair treatment with this mask, but it left my locks feeling very soft and shiny too. I cannot wait to get my beauty mitts on a full sized bottle of this stuff, its amazing.

The next set of samples is that one hair care product that is a holy grail item for me which of course is hair oil. Argan Dew honestly have such an amazing hair oil, its so good that I feel like popping it right up there with my beloved Moroccan Oil! I know that these are only sample sizes, but I also managed to get my mitts on a full sized bottle and I've honestly been using it non stop. This rich non greasy hair oil works wonders on my hair. I use it every time I was my hair without fair and as soon as I work it though the ends of my hair, I feel my hair become a lot more manageable and softer. This oil takes away any nasty frizz in your hair and smells incredible, it's so lovely to use I can't recommend it enough.

Overall I am so impressed and I cannot wait to get my hands on the full sized product of the hair mask, I need to use this in my weekly hair routine. Love Me Beauty Box || August Edition - Menu 3

Love Me Beauty Box* £12.95

I would have to say the most exciting thing that comes through my door every month and one of the things I most look forward to has to be the arrival of my 'Love Me Beauty Box'. I honestly can't say enough how much I love this monthly subscription service just because it's so amazing and never fails to disapoint in terms of the beauty products that it has on offfer. What I really love is being able to choose from three different menus each month and having a little bit of control about what items are going to come though the door. Every month I find myself sitting down and spending a good twenty minutes or so flicking back and forth each menu as usually there all so good, who agrees with me that it's really difficult to pick one sometimes? This month month was no different and after thinking long and hard I finally decided to go for menu 3 - So if you want the details of this menu then be sure to keep on reading.

Marsk Mineral Eye Shadow 'Lucky Penny' (RRP £14.49)

When it comes to eye shadow I have to say I usually stay away from pigments just because I'm the type of girl who usually rushes her makeup in the morning because I get out of bed too late, and as we all know pigments can be so messy; The amount of times that I've found fly away bits of loose powder hit my cream carpet its unreal. However when I have the time, I do like to use these highly pigmented eye shadows, so I was pretty happy to see this stunning one from 'Marsk' thrown into this months box. I've never heard of Marsk before, but I have to say I am so impressed with the quality of this pigment. The shade I received is called 'Lucky Penny' and its this stunning copper bronze colour which looks amazing once on. Not only is the colour payout amazing, but it has a slight shimmer running though it which adds that little bit of extra dimension to your eyes. I love brown/natural tones when it comes to eye shadow, and I know that this pigment is going to look amazing when creating a brown toned smokey eye, I love it.

Mirabella Lip Luster Liner 'Shy' (RRP £10.50)

Lip liners for me are a beauty item that are becoming quite the 'must have' thing and I keep finding myself buying them to match the many different shades of lipstick that I own. I just find that not only does a good lip liner make my lipstick last longer, but also gives that illusion of having fuller lips. Again I've not heard of the brand 'Mirabella' but this lip liner has really impressed me and it's so lovely to use. I hate when you get those lip liners that really drag across your lips, but this one is really soft and the colour payout is amazing. The shade 'Shy' is the perfect dusty pink colour making it pair well wonderfully with all my nudey pink lipsticks, already I'm getting a lot of use out of this.

A La Carte - Smudge Proof Eyebrow Definer (RRP £23.00)

Out of all the items in this months box, this eyebrow definer from A La Carte was the only thing that disappointed me slightly just because the shade is for blondes and having dark hair and eyebrows means that this product is not going to be that much use to me. This shade was available in all three boxes and I was a little sad that there was no variation there, meaning that there wasn't something to suit everyone's brows. However it does say that this can be used as an eyeliner. I've not tested it out on my eyes yet, but I think that using such a light shade of eyeliner will look nice on those no makeup makeup days. I have to say that the nib of this brow pen is lovely and I found the colour payout great when I was swatching this on the back of my hand, so if you do have light brows I bet this product will work fabulously. 

Oriflame - Swedish Spa Beauty Wonder Oil (RRP £8.45)

When it comes to oils, the only ones that I have in my beauty stash are the ones for you hair, its been a long time since I've had bottle of oil in the beauty drawer. I have to say oils always come in handy as they are such a multi purpose product and this one from Oriflame can be used on your body for massages or moisturising and used in the bath, and if you really want to go all out it can be used in your hair as a pre-shampoo treat. I've not tried this one out yet, but I have to say it smells gorgeous and I'm definitely going to be trying this out on my next pamper evening. 

So that's everything in this months box, apart from the brow definer I was so impressed with every product and I love how each one is full sized which makes the box such good value for money. July Degusta Box || Review

In May you may have seen a post where I reviewed a different kind of monthly subscription box, and that was of course the Degusta Box, which is the perfect monthly treat for any of you foodies out there. In case you missed that post, the Degusta Box is a monthly subscription service where you pay £12.99 (including P&P) and receive a box filled to the top with delicious treats and a few drinks. The contents are double the value for what you pay for the box and its such a great way to try out new foods, especially as most of the items in the box will all be new to the market. This is the second Degusta Box that I've received and I have to say its so exciting opening a massive box of food and not knowing whats going to be inside. I was so impressed with the contents of the July box and if you fancy having a nosey to see what I got then make sure to get yourselves comfy and keep on reading.

Portlebay Popcorn - Chilli & Lime, Kracklecorn and Crispy Bacon & Maple Syrup (RRP £0.79 Per Pack)

I was so excited when I saw three decently sized popcorn packets as I am such a popcorn fan, its one of my favourite snacks. Not only is popcorn a great healthy alternative snack to junk food but it tastes so good. I have to say I thought this popcorn looked pretty fancy and I love the stripy vibrant packaging, but the test was really in the tasting and oh my gosh guys this popcorn is amazing! I never thought I could be so excited about popcorn, but each one of these flavours was great, especially the 'crispy bacon & maple syrup' flavour, it was so scrumptious. If I ever see these 'Portlebay' popcorn packets in the shops, I will be stocking up and taking them home with me, they are that good.

Green & Blacks Lemon Bar (RRP £2.29) Frank Blueberry Protein Bar (RRP £0.85)

Following on with delicious treats, I was again pretty excited when I saw a bar of Green & Blacks chocolate in the Degusta Box. I have such a sweet tooth and chocolate has to be my go to guilty treat. I know dark chocolate is not to everyone's taste buds, but I love it. I did wonder at first if dark chocolate and lemon would make a good combination, but after eating the entire bar I can report back that it really does. This chocolate bar tasted so good and the lemon really added a bit of sweetness to the bitter dark chocolate.

Also thrown into the box was this blueberry and chocolate protein bar from Frank, which I am yet to try as I'm saving it for one of those days where I'm planning on having an intense session at the gym. I love blueberry flavoured things and again its got a little bit of chocolate in, so I'm pretty excited to try and taste this especially as its not something I would usually buy.

Dr. Oetker Eton Mess (RRP £1.99) Violet Crystals (RRP £1.29)

First of all how pretty do these jars of cake decorations look, especially the violet ones. I think I've mentioned this on my blog before, but I am not the best baker and it's not something that I do very often. But even as a non baker these decorations do excite me a little and do give me the urge to bake just so I can try and make something look pretty with these decorations (maybe I could sprinkle them over any cupcakes to help disguise my bad baking?). If you love baking then your going to love seeing these in your box.

Maggi Sachets (RRP £5.44 for 5)

I thought that these Maggi flavouring for food and quick and easy meal sachets were a nice thing to find in the Degusta Box just because they are so handy to have in your cupboards, especially on those days where your not feeling very inspired on what to cook. I've always seen these advertised on the TV but never actually tried any, so I'm looking forward to trying them out, especially the cook in the bag ones as it looks as though this is cooking made easy, which is perfect for me.

Zero Drinks (RRP £4.29 for a 4 pack)

As soon as I saw these three zero bottles I thought that they looked fancy and quite grown up, especially for a soft drink. I found that these carbonated soft drinks were really tasty and refreshing at the same time, a good all round summer drink. These would be perfect on sat out on the table at a summer BBQ especially in the summer. The peach and grapefruit flavour was a a favourite of mine. 

Hornsby's Blueberry Cider (RRP £1.25 each)

Out of all the products in the Degusta Box, I have to say that these two bottles of cider are the only things that didn't really take my fancy, even if they are blueberry flavoured. I'm such a fussy drinker and I really don't like cider, unfortunately no one in my household is so these have been gifted to a friend, but from what I've heard they tasted really good and went down a treat.

The Berry Company Black Tea (RRP £1.49) 

Again being a fussy drinker and having a strong dislike for tea this was another item that I did turn my nose up at a little. But as it's a special tea and is supposed to be really good for you I am going to find the courage to actually give this ago, especially as it's made with fruits. I do quite like the taste of elderflower so hopefully this wont be too bad. Although I've not actually gotten around to trying this drink, I can imagine that this will be a huge hit with anyone who does like tea so it's a good thing to have in the box.

So that's everything in the July Degustabox as you can see the box so many different products in there that will cater to everyone's taste buds and I think its such a fun way of trying and testing out different foods. This months box really impressed me and I can't wait to find out what the other boxes in future months will be like. Makeup Revolution I Heart Makeup Lip Geek Lipstick Collection #4 The Reds

If you've been keeping up to date with my recent posts then you wont have missed me rave about these gorgeous Lip Geek lipsticks from Makeup Revolution. I honestly love everything about these lipsticks from the pretty pink bullet casings to their highly pigmented and creamy formulas. Over the last few weeks I've showcased the pink shades, the corals and of course the nudes, but no lipstick collection would ever be complete without those daring reds. So today I'm showcasing all the reds in the I Heart Makeup Lip Geek collection and as you can see from the top picture they are stunning. 

I Worked For It

Starting with the darkest shade in the entire collection 'I Worked For It' is a gorgeous deep and vampy red and is going to be a perfect lipstick choice when the winter months come around. Don't be too put off by how dark it looks in the bullet as once on its a lot softer, which makes it very wearable. I would describe this red as a dark brick red kind of shade and its going to look great on so many skin tones, especially those of you who have paler skin. 

Totally Not Boring

This lipstick has the perfect name as it is 'Totally Not Boring', in fact this shade has to be one of my favourites in the collection just because it's so unique and looks amazing on. Totally Not Boring is a gorgeous aubergine colour and just has the right amount of purple tones to it. This colour lipstick is going to look fabulous in Autumn time and makes me excited instantly for that time of year - I love wearing berry toned shades. This lipstick also has a slight frost finish to it which just adds a little more dimension to your lips, giving you the appearance of fuller lips which is always a nice bonus.

Cherry Bomb

As the name of this lipstick suggests 'Cherry Bomb' is a beautiful cherry shade and it's everything that you would want from a red lipstick. This shade is bright, vibrant, bold and so wearable. I find that the formula of this lipstick is so creamy and gives your lips a gorgeous glossy look at the same time. It's the kind of red that I find works well with my skin tone and works well with my hair colour too, so if you do have darker hair 'Cherry Bomb' is going to look amazing on you.

Total Diva

Total Diva has to be that classic pillar box red kind of shade and it really looks so amazing once on your lips. It has a slight orange undertone to it which makes it a little different to other post box reds. I find that this shade of red works so well on you  blonde haired babes and will compliment your hair colour so perfectly, especially in the winter time. I also love just how pigmented this lipstick is and with a steady hand no lip liner in needed either. 

Dare To Be Different

Out of all the reds in the Lip Geek collection 'Dare To Be Different' has to be the most wearable and every day red and it really is so pretty once on. This lipstick is more of a pink toned red, so if your someone who doesn't want to go all out with a bright red this is a perfect alternative. This shade makes your lips look really healthy and works well with so many makeup looks, I've been reaching for it a lot and already its become quite the staple in my makeup bag.

So that's all the reds in the collection and I think you will agree there are some beauties in there. Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water || Review

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water

First of all I have to apologise for the half empty bottle that you see in the pictures of this Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water because I bought it thinking that it would pretty much be like any other cleansing water that I've used; I wasn't really sure if it was something that I would be blogging about. However after using this non stop I decided that this cleansing water was just too good not to blog about and its probably one of the best cleansing waters that I've used.

These Micellar solutions have to be my most favourite way to remove makeup, and over the last year or so I've tried and tested quite a few. I can honestly say that this one from Garnier is one of the best that I've tried, if not the best its just amazing. Although all of these waters will remove stubborn makeup with minimum fuss, I just find this one from Garnier does it so much better, especially when it comes to mascara and stubborn eyeliner. I only have to hold a cotton pad over my eye for a few seconds to find that my makeup has just melted off which just amazing. I also find that this solution is one that mostly resembles water, it doesn't really have any fragrance to it and it almost feels like I'm washing my face when using it. I just love the way my skin looks after using this.

As for the packaging, I find that its really user friendly and the bottle is just huge. The solution dispenses out of a small hole in the cap rather that the whole cap coming off so its really easy to control just how much solution comes out onto the cotton pad. Also the pretty pink cap is a lovely little touch from Garnier as it just makes this product look a little more girly which I love.
