My Favourite Spring Lipsticks - Top Five

I really can't believe we've hit March already! It feels quite good to be saying goodbye to winter and welcoming Spring with lighter evening and warmer days. Theres something that I really love about spring time, it feels good getting outdoors again and it just seems a lot more colourful. I was going though my makeup at the weekend, picking out items that I thought were very appropriate for the season and thought I would share with you all the lipsticks that I'm going to be reaching for the most this Spring. As some of you may know, I love pink lipsticks. However over the winter I abandoned them for wintery reds and nineties nudes, but for me spring is all injecting a bit of brightness into my look and as you will see from the pictures I'm definitely thinking pink.

Boujois Rouge Edition Velvet - Happy Nude Year

When it comes to drugstore lipstick, the Rouge Edition Velvets from Bourjois really are some of my all time favourites. For a start I absolutely love the formula. Soft and velvety on your lips, gorgeous matte finish and super lasting staying power. One shade that I reached for a lot over winter was one of the newest editions to the collection 'Happy Nude Year'. This soft pink toned nude is just perfect for everyday wear and I think would look great any time of year and with any makeup look. For those spring days where I'm wanting to wear something a little more understated I'll be reaching for this.

Makeup Revolution Lip Hug - She's Up All Night

Onto something a little more brighter, Makeup Revoltions Lip Hug Lipstick in 'She's Up All Night' is the perfect lipstick to brighten up my look and give my lips a gorgeous pop of colour. I love these Lip Hug lipsticks, they very much remind me of the Revlon Lip Butters - A beautiful combination of gloss, lim balm combined with the great colour pay out of a lipstick. She's Up All Night is the perfect spring time pink, it's bright, bold but the glossy formula gives a lovely softness to this bold lip. It's a really fun colour to wear and will look great during Easter.

Mac - Lovelorn

Now were talking about one of my all time favourite lipsticks Mac's Lovelorn. I love this lipstick so much that this is now my third one. Lovelorn is one of Mac's Lustre lipsticks, so this pretty pink shade has a lovely gloss look to it. It's so comfortable to wear and looks amazing! Think pretty girl lipstick. What I really love about this lipstick is that it's perfect! It's not too glossy, not too sheer, highly pigmented and really natural looking at the same time. Lovelorn has spring written all over it and it will probably be my most worn lipstick over the next few months.

Mac Brave

Another Mac lipstick to make its way into my spring favourites is Mac's Brave - A lipstick that's been on everyones wish lists. Brave is the perfect nude lipstick and is a shade that really does give you that perfect pout. This nude toned lipstick leans more on the pink side and I would describe it as the perfect dusty pink and it really does look stunning on. If you're wanting to make your lips the focal point of your look, then Brave is the lipstick for the job. I think this lipstick is one of those classic nudes and if your still loving the nineties lip as much as I am, then Mac Brave is the one. 

Makeup Revolution I Heart Makeup Lip Geek Ken Will Want Me 

Out of all the Makeup Revolution Lipsticks 'Ken Will Want Me' from their Lip Geek range has to be my favourite. I think I wore this non stop last summer when it was released and now Spring it's on its way it's made its way back into my makeup bag. This lipstick is a gorgeous light pink shade that has a slight blue/purple undertone to it. It really is the perfect pretty girl pink and I think would suit most skin tones, it also looks amazing with a tan - Ken Will Want Me has to be one of my all time favourite lipsticks and I'm pleased it's making a comeback this year. 

So thats's all of my spring picks, as you can see there is a lot of pink in there, but after a season of brown toned nudes and vampy reds its great to brighten things up a little. I would love to know what lipsticks you'll be reaching for this spring and if any of yours match mine?

February Favourites

I can't quite believe were in March already and I'm sat here typing up another favourites posts. I don't know if it's just me but last month just whizzed by. I kind of love it when we step in to March just because it starts to feel a little bit more spring like - Hello to a change of wardrobe and new makeup. I can honestly say that the pastels nail polishes have made their way back out, which matches my spring time mood perfectly. 

Last month was a great month for discovering new favourites, at the beginning of last month  I went shopping and picked up some new makeup - Nothing beats the feeling of new makeup purchases does it?  I've found myself trying out my new makeup bits, some of them I've used non stop and have made it's way into my monthly favourites.

Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette

If you read my beauty haul post (here) you will have seen that I picked up the Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette, which had been on my wish list for quite some time. Since picking it up I've been reaching for it non stop and I absolutely love it. I have to say it's one of the nicest palettes I've used in a long while. Each shade is gorgeous, it has such an amazing selection of neutral shades and has a great choice of matte and shimmery shadows to choose from. What I really love about this palette is that all the shadows are so buttery, smooth and apply like a dream; They're really blendable and so pigmented. Of course the chocolate vanilla smell of these shadows are another reason why this palette makes it's way into my favourites, it's honestly the nicest smelling palette I've ever come across - Even taking the pictures for todays post was making my mouth water a little, it really does smell that good.

Makeup Revolution I heart Makeup Lip Lava 

Last month I came across the new Makeup Revolution I Heart Makeup Lip Lava's which are seriously so impressive. I'm still in awe at how pigmented, glossy and beautiful these liquid lipsticks are. There are five shades in the Lip Lava collection (I've reviewed them all here) but Temor, a beautiful light pink toned lipstick has to be my favourite and one which I've been wearing a lot. It's a perfect spring time colour and I've loved wearing this to brighten up my makeup look. It's such a pretty girl pink and would look good on anyone. 

Mac Brave Lipstick 

Another lip product that I've been loving has been Mac's Brave lipstick. This is another one of those Mac lipsticks that I had been wanting to get my hands on for sometime, much like my beloved Velvet Teddy. I've found Brave to be the perfect everyday nude lipstick, I find that it's more of a pink toned nude, so it just warms my face up nicely whenever I wear this. Again with it being another KJ favourite, I kind of felt the need to have this in my collection, and I really don't regret picking it up. Paired with the right lipliner, this lipstick can give you a much fuller pout - A look which I've been loving these last few months.

L'Oreal True Match Foundation

Last month I not only discovered some new favourites, but fell back in love with some old ones too. When I first picked up the L'Oreal True Match foundation last year, it quickly became a favourite of mine, that was until I started wearing the Revlon Color Stay again, which has to be one of my all time favourites. I started wearing True Match again at the beginning of the month and had forgotten just how much I love this foundation. It gives a medium coverage, is really buildable and gives you naturally looking flawless skin. Whenever I wear this foundation, I feel as though my skin has been given the perfect pick me up as it instantly makes my skin look brighter. Smashbox It's A Wrap Waterproof Makeup Remover 

As much as I love eye makeup, the downside is that no matter what you use it can be a right pain to remove at the end of the evening, especially waterproof mascara and eyeliner. I've been using the Benefit They're Real Push Up Liner a lot this month and if anyone has used it, you will know just how incredibly stubborn it is - The stuff really doesn't budge. Over Christmas I received the Smashbox It's a Wrap Makeup Remover and I've really been putting it to the test over the last month. If you struggle in anyway to get rid of your eye makeup, I promise you, you need this remover, its a God send! It's a Wrap is an oil based remover and gets rid of all your eye makeup in an instant. There is no need for scrubbing or tearing away at your eyes with this product, it just melts away your eye makeup and is so gentle on your eyes. I can't ever see myself without this remover, its that good.

Organic Surge Hydrating Eye Cream

When it comes to skincare I have to say I'm a little lazy when it comes to eye creams and they aren't something I tend to reach for or buy as a matter of fact. However the Organic Surge Hydrating Eye Cream came into my life a little while ago and I've been reaching for it every evenings and most mornings. This eye cream is ever so gentle under the eyes and really does a great job at brightening underneath my eye area and reducing any puffiness. I love how quickly this absorbs into my skin, so its great to apply in the mornings before using my primer, and really helps to sooth over any fine lines.

Beauty Haul || Too Faced, MAC, Smashbox & More ...

Nothing beats a bit of retail therapy, especially when its the beauty buying kind. If you've been up to date with my most recent blog posts you may have seen rather large beauty wish list go up the other week (here) well a few days after that I headed to Milton Keynes with the bestie and decided to have a much needed splurge. As much as I love the comfort of online shopping, sometimes nothing beats a girly day out at the shops, especially when you can have lunch and a lengthly girly chat over a glass of wine when the shopping gets too much. 

There were a few bits that I needed to get clothes wise, but when it comes down to beauty there were no rules and I decided to pick up whatever it was that I fancied. I still had a lot of gift vouchers that I hadn't used up from Christmas, so thought I would pick up some of the bits that I had been after for quite some time.

Smashbox Double Exposure Palette

I cannot express just how excited this palette makes me, as soon as I saw the Double Exposure Palette from Smashbox was released in the UK I just knew I had to have it and I wasn't prepared to wait around for it either. Most of you are probably aware by now that Smashbox has fast become one of my favourite high end brands, I'm yet to try a product that I dislike and am becoming somewhat Smashbox obsessed. I've not gotten around to trying this palette just yet - I've been waiting for a day off just so I can take pictures of it looking pristine for a review (yes the beauty blogger struggle is so real!). 

I love the mixture of shades this palette has to offer, it has some lovely cool toned colours, some deep purples and some pretty natural shades too which makes it such a great all rounder. What really makes this palette exciting is that as soon as the shadows come into contact with water, it changes the  eyeshadows, either making them metallic or deepening them in colour. So effectively you're getting 28 different shades to play around with, which is amazing! I just know I'm going to get a lot of use out of this palette and I can't wait to share my thoughts and feature this in a review.

Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette

This heavenly scented Chocolate Bar Palette has been on my beauty wish list for the longest of time and I'm so pleased to add it to my collection. I know it may look as though I've gone a bit palette crazy, but you can never have too many shadows right? When it comes to eyeshadow, I reach for warm toned browns and neutral shades all the time, so this palette is perfect for me. I just think its such a beautiful looking palette. 

I've been using this non stop since I picked it up and it's just so lovely to use. The shadows are really buttery, super pigmented and blend beautifully. I promise you that no one is exaggerating when they tell you how delicious this palette smells, its gorgeous and you do get those lovely warm chocolate/vanilla smells coming though as soon as you open the palette up. Again I can't wait to feature this in a full review for you all.

MAC Brave Lipstick 

My love for nude lipsticks has become somewhat obsessive over the last few months, I've been wearing MAC Velvet Teddy non stop since I purchased it the other week - Another one of those Kylie Jenner nudes that had been on my wish list for sometime, but again another one of those lipsticks which had been permanently out of stock was Brave. When I was at the MAC counter in Debenhams I asked right away if they had it and to my luck there was only one left! I took this as one of those signs that meant I had to have this lipstick, and I'm so pleased I picked it up - I love it.

Brave is such a pretty pink/brown toned nude and just gives my lips a little more flush of colour than Velvet Teddy. I just love the finish to this lipstick, it's one of MAC's satin formulas so it's lovely and creamy on your lips without it being glossy. I honestly can't get enough of this lipstick, its gorgeous! 

Benefit They're Real Push Up Liner

I am one of these girls who love winged liner, although be it I'm not brilliant at doing it. As soon as Benefit released 'They're Real Push Up Liner' I have to admit I wanted to give it ago, but refused to give into the hype right away. I don't know, something just doesn't sit to well with me paying a lot for an eyeliner, so I didn't give into temptation. It was actually my friend who had this in her makeup bag and after borrowing it on a few occasions, I saw sense and realised what all the fuss was about surrounding this eyeliner. Again it become one of those 'have to have' products. 

I actually used my Boots points to purchase this which is always such a great feeling, don't you think? Or it says I spend way too much money in Boots! Anyhow I LOVE this eyeliner, it really is amazing. It just makes doing tricky cat flicks on the outer corners of my eyes each morning a breeze, and I love how smudge and fade proof this liner is, it really does stay black though out the whole day. I can't wait to feature this in a review for you all.

MUA Lush Lilac Nail Polish

Another obsession of mine recently has been lilac, I think I wore this shade a lot last summer and I guess I just can't wait for summer to come around again this year. I love wearing pastel colours on my nails and with it being February I'm so ready to ditch dark nails. I have a few lilac nail polishes in my collection, but have been wanting something a little bit lighter, a shade that almost looks a little white and this was the closest that I found. 

I've never tried polishes from MUA before, but this one kind of reminds me of an Essie bottle, its really cute and I love the packaging. I've not tried this yet, so can't say on how well it applies or lasts on my nails, but for £1.00 I won't be complaining.

Wednesday Wish List

It has been forever since I posted a wish list up on my blog. Way back in the day when I first started blogging I used to make them a weekly feature and I think I might have overdone it a little. Anyhow, I've had some vouchers that I received over Christmas that have been burning away that back hole in my pocket. I don't know why, when I have vouchers I become really picky and choosy over what I spend them on, does anyone else get like this? So the last couple of weeks I've been browsing the internet and these are the beauty must haves that I've narrowed it down too and I thought I'd share my current wish list with you all.

NARS Foreplay Palette

When it comes to blush, you really can't go wrong with NARS. I used to swear by their Orgasm blush, but it's one of those products that I never got round to repurchasing and I have to say I miss it immensely in my beauty collection. I've been eyeing up the Foreplay palette as it just looks gorgeous!   Orgasm is included in this palette which makes it even more perfect for me, alongside a bright pink , a gorgeous peach shade and a shimmery gold highlight - Beautiful!

Smashbox Double Exposure Palette

I'm a huge fan of Shaaanxo on YouTube, how amazing are her videos? Ever since I saw her use the Smashbox Double Exposure palette on one of her tutorials I just knew I had to have it. Out of all the beauty bits on this wish list, this is the one I know I want in my collection for sure. Possibly because I've become quite obsessed with Smashbox, but that aside this palette looks and sounds amazing. It's a palette that has fourteen shadows, but they change when they come into contact with water, so your effectively getting 28 shades - Amazing. I cannot wait till I get my hands on this.

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara

It seems as though every beauty girl and blogger cannot stop raving about the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara. I haven't heard this much hype around a mascara since the release of the Benefit They're Real (which I'm still loving). Not only does the hype surrounding this mascara put it right up there on the top of my wish list, I also think the name is fab! Loving the name of a mascara shouldn't be a reason to make me want it, but I'm not going to lie, it totally does.

Mac Brave Lipstick

If you've taken a look at my January favourites post (here) you will know that I'm totally obsessed with the nineties lip right now and I've been wearing my Velvet Teddy non stop. Another lipstick that I'm longing to get my hands on is another one of those Kylie Jenner faves. Mac's Brave lipstick is another one that seems permanently sold out, but as soon as I see it back in stock you can bet I'm going to try and get my beauty mitts on it.

Another eye shadow palette makes it way onto my wish list, and it's one that I think just looks so amazing and beautiful. I've seen a lot of reviews on the blogosphere about the TooFaced Chocolate Bar palette, and not only am I told it smells just like chocolate, but the shades look so gorgeous. When it comes to eyeshadow I love warm toned browns and neutral shades and this palette has a good mixture of both. I cannot wait to add this to my collection, I'm hoping I'll be able to get my hands on it soon.

Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette

I think I must be a bit palette obsessed at the moment, but I'm sure you all agree there are just so many good ones out there right now, how do you choose just one? Like I said previously I love creating a natural eye look and the Naked Basics looks as though its the perfect palette for the job. I've pretty much used all the neutral shades in my Naked palette, I absolutely adore them and reach for them most days. This palette would be perfect for me.

Benefit They're Real Push Up Liner

This is one of those Benefit products that every beauty blogger raved about when it was first launched. Being one not to give into a hype right away, I kind of turned a blind eye to it as difficult as it was. However my best friend picked this up a little while ago and I've borrowed it a few times and have been blown away by it. It's now become one of those products that I need to get hold of myself and have in my own makeup bag. This liner makes doing that tricky winged liner super easy, which is something I need at 7am each morning.

Charlotte Tilbury Bronze & Glow

First of all how beautiful does this product look. I have been so impressed with Charlotte Tilbury and have yet to use a product that disappointed. I just love the way this sculpt and highlight product looks , the packaging is stunning and I've seen nothing but rave reviews about this product. I love contouring and am always on the lookout for products to give me that perfect glow and highlight. This product is a little pricey, but I'm sure it's worth every penny.

Zoeva Rose Golden Brush Set

I've seen this gorgeous rose gold brushes from Zoeva appear on so many beauty blogs and every time I see them I can't help but want them. Not only are they pretty to look at, they sound as though they are amazing when they're in action. Definitely need these in my life. 

So that's everything on my wish list, I know it's a bit of a luxury one but there is nothing wrong with a beauty girl dreaming big. Hopefully this year I'll get to try out some of these products and if I do, you know I'll be sharing them with you here on my blog.
