End of Summer Favourites

I can't believe August is coming to an end! Does anyone else think this year is just flying past? I was reminiscing the other day on just how good summer has been this year, I know a lot of us all complained about the heatwave, myself included...But I'm not going to lie, I kind of miss the warm weather. August has been a bit of a flop really weather wise and even though my heart is still clinging onto summer, I'm currently sat here typing this post up sat with a hot water bottle on my lap, which says it all really. Anyway, enough of me being a typical Brit and talking about the weather, what I really wanted to share with you all today is some of my favourite summer beauty items, ones that I've reached for time and time again. Over the last few months I've not really tried anything new, and makeup has been kept to a minimum because of the heat, so the things I have been using really have been must haves for me.

What's In My Everyday Summer Makeup Bag

As much as I love makeup, I like to keep things to a minimum in the summer. Even though I live nowhere near a beach, I love that 'I've just walked off the beach' kind of look, so less is definitely more. Not to mention with this heat wave we are having, my makeup is just melting away by the afternoon so there really is no need to cake anything on. I thought I'd show you all the contents of my summer makeup bag, just to see what I've been loving recently and it might help you narrow down your essentials too.

Get the Perfect Summer Skin with GWA Liquid Glow Illuminators

Summer is just around the corner and I don't know if it's just me, but there seems to be a lot of hype and love right now for products that make your skin glow. I know my Instagram feed is full of beautiful products which will illuminate the skin and so many people are raving about the new Sol de Janeiro Ipanema Sunset Glow Oil which looks stunning, but with a price tag of £35.00 it's not at the very top of my wish list of things I need to buy. It got me thinking about cheaper alternatives and straight away my two favourite Liquid Glow Illuminators from Girls With Attitude came to mind. I've had the two illuminators in my makeup stash for a little while now, but have only really used them as highlighters - But it got me thinking about other ways that I can use them to achieve a really similar look to the more pricey Sunset Glow Oil and I thought I'd share with you my top tips on how I use these two GWA Illuminators to get the most gorgeous summer skin.

Mac Hipness Blush - The Prettiest Blush I've Ever Owned!

I think it goes without saying that every beauty girl has a bit of a thing for Mac, it was the first high end makeup brand that I fell in love with and my collection has gradually become bigger over the years, even more so since blogging. When I was on holiday (which seems like a life time ago now) I had a little splurge in the Duty Free as you do and picked up one of Mac's limited edition blushers from their Wash and Dry collection. Now with this being a limited edition product I was in two minds  whether or not to blog about as I got it a while ago and it's not something you'll be able to get hold of easily. However this is the second time Mac have released this blush and as I love it so much I thought it would be well worth the blog post.

Usually I'm not one to get lost in the hype of the limited edition Mac releases, but when I saw the collection sat there looking so pretty in the Duty Free, it quickly caught my attention. The Wash & Dry collection just screams holiday vibes to me with it's shining turquoise and sunset metallic outer casings. It's just so stunning. I'm not going to lie, I spent a little while at the Mac counter swatching pretty much everything in the collection and taking my time deciding what it was I wanted to take away with me on holiday.

I had to limit myself on picking a few things up as there were other bits that I was spending my money on in the Duty Free, so opted for just one blush in the shade Hipness. This decision turned out to be one of the best makeup decisions that I have ever made as this little blush has quickly become a favourite. Being very much a blush girl, I'm also quick to say that this is the best blush that I've ever used and the colour is just perfect for summer and works beautifully with my skin tone. I know this a pretty big statement to make, but it's so true - I love everything about this blush, so I'm absolutely gutted that it's a limited edition product.

Hipness is has to be the perfect summer blush, I would describe it as a really warm toned coral shade that leans towards the pink side. You only need to use the smallest amount of this blush to give your cheeks a little flush of warmth to your complexion. You know when you've been out in the sun and you have a really healthy sun kissed glow to your skin, this blush gives you that really healthy look. Mac have given Hipness one of its frost finish formulas, but I don't find this blush to be shimmery at all. I think it just gives your skin more of a glow than a sparkle which is even better.

I honestly don't know what I'm going to do when this blush runs out, other than hunt around for the perfect dupe. It would be a dream if Mac could add this to its permanent line and I'm keeping my fingers crossed. If you use any blushers which are similar to this, please let me know in the comments below as I'm dreading the day where I have to limit my uses on this blush.

Make Believe Beauty || How I Get The Perfect Summer Glow

Summer has to be my favourite time of the year, especially when it comes to makeup. I love that minimal sun kissed makeup look and I love finding new products that will help me achieve this look. I honestly have such an obsession when it comes to buying bronzers, I love trying out new ones, so I'm pretty excited to be talking about a new favourite in todays post. Today I thought I'd share with you some gorgeous new makeup that I've been trying out from Make Believe that really help achieve a natural summer glow.

For those of you who haven't heard of Make Believe before, they are a tanning brand and I was introduced to some of their products from a blogging event last year. From that moment I became a huge fan of their Instant Wash Off Tan and I've always had a bottle or two in my tanning stash. Recently I attended the CiCiPr Event down in London and some beautifully bonzed girls from Make Believe where there showcasing off some more products from the brand. I was lucky enough to receive a goody bag and was so excited to see that Make Believe had added some makeup bits to their range, perfect to help me get my summer glow.

First up we have the Enhance Sunbeam Bronzer and Blush. Out of all the makeup products from Make Believe this has to be my favourite (like I said, I'm obsessed with bronzer!). I just think this bronzer is so beautifully packaged for a start and I love how its put together in a box that closes with a magnetic strip. Inside you have a mirror and a mini kabuki brush as well as the actual bronzer. - Talk about helping a girl out! I love how Make Believe have added the brush in with the bronzer, its such a nice touch. The bristles on this brush as so soft and I have loved using this to apply my bronzer, the bristles are quite dense so pick up just the right amount of product and it blends bronzer beautifully.

As for the actual bronzer, I love it! This bronzer has a lovely matte finish and I love that it's not too dark or muddy looking. I would say I have a medium skin tone and this bronzer works great used all over my face, but if I want to build it up I can use it as a contour also. Usually I do go for bronzers that are a little darker, but whats so great about this one is that it's really natural looking, so it will suit so many skin tones. As a lover of bronzer, this one from Make Believe gets top marks from me.

Now, no bronzed look or contour would be complete without a highlight. If you really want to look sun kissed then a good highlighter will be your best friend. I really love how Make Believe have thought of everything to achieve the perfect summer look. Again just like the bronzer I love the packaging of this highlighter, it comes packaged in clear plastic which feels a little like the acrylic clear makeup storage units I use. This Enhance Luminize Skin Highlighter comes in a cream form but as you begin to blend it in it feels more like a powder which I love. It's one of those highlights that really work into your skin rather than just sit on top which I prefer as its much more natural looking. Usually I find cream products really hard to blend in but not this one, its perfect.

For me the actual colour of this highlight is perfect, it's named celestial pink, which I think describes the shade perfectly. This highlight does have light pink shimmers to it and is such a beautiful pinky champagne colour. Again very natural looking and it really does a great job at brightening up my makeup look.

The last item in the Make Believe beauty line is the Enhance Shimmer Lip Gloss. I have to say out of all the products here, this is probably the one I'm least excited about it as I'm not really a lip gloss kind of girl. However this one is actually very pretty and smells deliciously fruity. I think when it comes to creating natural summer makeup a nice neutral glossy lip works perfectly and if you don't want to wear anything too dramatic on your lips then this one from Make Believe would work great. I actually find the lip gloss to be quite thick in texture which doesn't really appeal to me as it does feel a little heavy, but I do love how it's not too shiny. It actually makes my lips look really plump and juicy (is that a thing?). It's not too sticky either which again is something I look for in a lip gloss.

Overall I love this little collection on makeup bits from Make Believe. As you all know by now I'm a summer girl at heart and this kind of makeup completely appeals to me. Out of all the products the bronzer is by far my favourite, I'm using it daily. Be sure to head over to the Make Believe website (here) to have a look at all their products including their amazing tanners.

I would love to know what summer makeup has made its way in to your makeup bag? Let me know in the comments below.

MeMeMe Coral Blossom Cheek & Lip Tint || Review

MeMeMe Coral Blossom Cheek & Lip Tint* £5.50

For the last few months I have been quite obsessed with MeMeMe Cosmetics Beat The Blues Highlighter and this month MeMeMe have added another cheek and lip duo to their collection which I've pretty much fallen in love with right away. I am a huge fan of multipurpose products and have been a fan of the Benefit cheek & lip stains for some time, especially 'Posie Tint' (its gorgeous) but with its £24.50 price tag its a little on the expensive side. However MeMeMe have brought us a much more purse friendly dupe this summer that is just so amazing and is a makeup bag essential for anyone who loves cheek and lip stains.

This Coral Blossom tint from MeMeMe is beautiful on and I've loved using this for an everyday summer makeup look. I always think coral tones  look gorgeous this time of year, especially when your all bronzed from the summer sun. What I really love about this cheek and lip tint is that the coral shade is a really warm toned peach which is going to look amazing for all skin tones, especially with those of you who have fairer skin. With just a few dabs of the brush onto your cheek bones is going to be enough colour payoff to give you such a lovely warm flush of colour. I actually find that once the tint has been blended onto your cheeks it leaves such a lovely dewy finish and isn't too heavy at all. I know most of us love going for that natural skin look this time of year and its great to find a blush that is going to work with that look. Does anyone else find it annoying when you use a dewy foundation only to cover this fresh faced look up with a powdery chalky blush? I find that the Coral Blossom tint really does help to give your cheeks that sexy summer glow... Yes Please.

As for using this as a lip stain, again the colour payout is very subtle but enough to add a lovely warmth to your lips. I find that it just adds a lovely coral tone to your lips and definitely gives you that 'your lips but better' look. As soon as you pop this on it dries immediately and what I really love is that it will stain your lips for hours. Sometime's I'll even add a sheer gloss over the top just to add a little something extra and this looks ever so pretty on.

Over the past week I've actually not stopped wearing the Coral Blossom Cheek & Lip Tint,  its been great wearing this both on my lips and cheeks at the same time as it really does create such a fabulous summer look, it really is a summer essential!

I would love to know if your a fan of cheer and lip tints and if so what are your favourite ones to use? I think this coral shade is just super pretty and gorgeous, but let me know what your go to summer shade is?

Lots of Love
