New House of Fraser Store Opening at Rushden Lakes | Take a Look Inside!

I love shopping theres no doubt about it, but regular readers will know my struggle because my town is shocking when it comes to choices, theres only a few decent shops on the high street and nowhere to buy any high end makeup and as a beauty blogger this is a nightmare! You may have seen my post a few weeks ago about the new shopping centre Rushen Lakes opening (here) and my shopping prayers have been answered. Why? Because House of Fraser finally opened up their doors and this new store of theirs literally whisked me away to beauty heaven. Towards the end of last week I was kindly invited by the team at HoF to attend the opening of their new store, which got me so excited for a number of reasons - the main one being House of Fraser has to be my favourite department store. I've been to Rushden Lakes a few times and every time I've passed HoF I see the lighted up Mac and Urban Decay counters calling my name, so for me the countdown on the store opening was on. So on Thursday morning I took the 15 minute trip over there and had one of the best shopping experiences of my life; So amazing that I just have to share it with you all.

First of all, this is the first House of Fraser that's opened in nearly nine years, so I think it was a big thing for the company to get things right. Like I said the store is located at the new Rushden Lakes shopping centre and for those of you who don't know, Rushden Lakes is all about working with the natural environment and the wildlife trust; the shopping centre has been designed with this in mind. The location is just stunning as its surrounded by the lake sides. It was only fitting that House of Fraser have made their store green and sustainable and this is really reflected within the store, which  added so much to my shopping experience. The first thing that completely wowed me when looking around the store was the eight meter tall wall filled with over 2000 indoor plants, it was so beautiful. And right at the very top of the living wall is an array of birds that have been made out of recycled materials, it really is stunning.  The idea of bringing the outside in is reflected through the whole store and as I was looking around I saw so many shop displays surrounded by little indoor plants.

Like with any department store, you can expect to see all your favourite brands under one roof and House of Fraser has really gone all out with their new store at Rushden Lakes, having over 50 premium and high street brands to choose from. I honestly had to much fun walking around and having a good browse at everything, I warn you now this part of my post is about to get very picture heavy and you guys will be able to see just how beautiful this new store really is.

 

As soon as I walked into House of Fraser I was greeted by my favourite brands, Chanel, Mac, Nars and Urban Decay to name a few. You guys know I am makeup obsessed and this is where I spent most of my time. All the makeup counters and their displays are amazing and there was so much choice. One thing that really stood out to me is the staff on each makeup counter, they were all so friendly and couldn't do enough for me. Makeup brands like this just haven't been accessible in Northampton, so already I know HoF is my new favourite place to shop for makeup.

One beauty brand that I was really excited to see was Deciem, I've been wanting to try some of the Ordinary Products for so long. The lovely Racheal, who gave me a personal tour of the store gave me her top recommendations, so keep an eye out for a future post as I will be going over everything that I picked up soon.

After browsing everything in beauty, I took my time to have a good look at the rest of the store and nothing disappointed me. The men's section takes up half of the sound floor and upstairs theres a lovely sized home ware section, kids section and of course ladies wear. Each department was presented beautifully with its displays and I couldn't have spent hours looking and going though everything. One department that really excited me whats the children's wear. Being a mum means I love spending my time in this department just as much as the beauty one. The kids section even has a Hamley's toy section which is going to be so handy for Christmases and Birthdays.

 

As we know shopping is thirsty work and House of Fraser have really thought about the customers needs as on the downstairs floor you can find a cafe Nero and at the top floor you have 'Eden' a  champagne bar, which is just amazing! Every shopping trip definitely needs a glass of bubbly.

Honestly there are no words to describe just how stunning this new store is and if you're ever in the area or want a new place to shop you must put Rushden Lakes at the top of your list, there are so many stores there, restaurants with lake side views and House of Fraser is at the top of my list of shops there. All the staff are so helpful and I was constantly greeted with smiling faces, it's a lovely touch when staff members are just as excited and passionate about shopping as their customers.

House of Fraser also kindly gifted me a voucher so I could really get a feel for the store and enjoy my shopping experience, so expect to see a HoF haul post very soon?
