Boardmasters 2014 || Young, Wild & Free

Hi guys, sorry I've been a bit missing in action over the last few weeks or so, things have been a bit crazy in the world of sunshine and sparkle, but today I really wanted to get up a lifestyle kind of post and just sit down and chat to you all. A few weeks ago you may have seen a video of mine go up which saw me rambling on about all the best beauty essentials that would be great to take away to any festival or camping trip. I was so excited about this video as it was only a few days after that I took the trip to Newquay for a bit of Boardmasters fun!

It's was my crazy fun filled weekend at Boardmasters that has seen me get a little behind with my usual blogging schedule, not only was I away for five days, but it took best part of the following week returning from Newquay to fully recover from the weekend then following that I've been super busy with work and then caught my first cold of the year... Booo.  Seeing as I had the best time, I thought I would write up a post and give you all a little insight as to what me and my best girls got up too. I had planned on getting up more of a 'What I Wore' post as I had planned some pretty amazing outfit for my trip, but the weather was so bad and the majority of the time I was layering up on my knitwear. Actually the weather was so bad that the last day of the festival was cancelled (thanks hurricane Bertha), despite having to pop down our flowery tipi decorated in solar paneled fairy lights early hours on Sunday morning, we decided to stay and had our own mini party which all added to the festival fun. Can I just add our tipi (AKA MILF TENT) was the talk of the whole campsite, Stacey did an amazing job at taking camping to that glamping level, we had a blow up chair/bed, another blow up bed, posh pink cutlery and glasses, a table and the fairy lights were the perfect touch.

One thing that I think that makes Boardmasters pretty special is its chilled atmosphere and the fact that its right near the beach gives it those 'good kinda vibes', my friends and I saw some pretty amazing acts including Chase & Status and Snoop Dog. I honestly wasn't expecting much from the ledgened that is Snoop, but he was actually amazing and turned out to be one of the highlights of the weekend. Aswell as singing and dancing  away to some awesome acts, the dance tent is where it's at and that place always brings out the mini raver in me - I don't know why but dancing in wellies makes raving all that more fun.

I thought it would be pretty disgusting as with any festival not being able to shower for a few days, but on the Saturday we had a surfing lesson booked and I honestly had the best of time. Guys, surfing is really difficult, whenever I see it on TV people make it look so easy, but battling the waves is tricky business and there are no graces about it whatsoever, the words 'dudes you girls have the best wipe outs ever' was used by the instructor, just to give you all some idea at how bad we was. I was pretty pleased that I managed to stand up on the board on my own just the once without any help, it was a good moment, ha.

It was pretty funny smuggling in all our alcohol as there is a limit as to what you can take in at Boardmasters, but we managed to sneak everything though, the only thing that got confiscated was our dry shampoo!! Can you believe it, the one beauty essential that is a must, is not allowed into a festival because its an aerosol? Have any of you found this with other festivals lest me know? However my trusty Batiste was in the bottom of my bag and went un-noticed!

I honestly had the best time and for a good few weeks I had major Boardmasters blues, but it looks as though it's in the pipeline again for next year and I cannot wait! My besties and I had the best time, saw some old friends and made some new ones and partied the weekend away, it was perfect and so many memories were made. If you've been to any festivals this year let me know in the comments below, I would love to hear about it.

LullaBellz || Layla Rose Floral Crown

Summer is the perfect time of year to accessorise your outfits with everything pretty and girly and having a floral crown is an essential for any for any summer loving kinda girl. I love wearing flowers in my hair, not only does it add a pretty touch to your outfits, I find that adding them uplifts my mood completely and makes me a feel a little whimsical - ahh the simple things in life :)

I know I'm not alone in my love for flowers, as there seams to be a huge buzz around overly large floral crowns at the moment. This year I have fallen in love with my gorgeous handmade Layla Rose Floral Crown from LullaBellz - I was lucky enough to win in it a Twitter competition and since receiving it, it has been my go too accessory this summer. The Layla Rose floral crown has six beautiful roses placed evenly around a gold headband and as you can see from the pictures there is so much detailing on each rose. I adore the burnt orange colour that they come in as orange has to be one of my favourite colours and it's the perfect colour to wear this time of year.

As the roses on this headband are on the larger side and I have a really small head, I tend to wear this headband when I'm wearing my hair in loose boho curls and it looks so pretty and romantic on - I always get so many compliments whenever I wear it as it's such a pretty and unique headpiece. With festival season being upon us, it's the perfect excuse to give 'flower power' a huge thumbs up and a floral crown is an essential accessory to complete any festival look. Last weekend I went to the Boardmasters festival down in Newquay and my Layla Rose Floral Crown turned out to be such a head turner, everyone loved it and was asking me where I had gotten it from, so I thought it was about time I shared it here on my blog.

If you are looking to add some flowers to your hair this summer LullaBellz have an amazing selection of floral crowns, big or small and in every colour imaginable - All of them look so beautiful and I know I have my eye on a few to add to my flower collection. It's lovely knowing my crown was handmade, which means it was made with love and it arrived in a little bag, which you can see in the pictures, for me to keep it safe in. If you are interested in picking up a floral crown then you can find loads on the LullaBellz website, I can't recommend them enough.

The above pictures are from Boardmasters last weekend and as you can see the Layla Rose Floral Crown looks gorgeous on and completes the festival look that I was going for.

I would love to know what you've been wearing in your hair recently and if your a fan of the floral crown too.

Aussie, Boardmasters and Me!

Hi Girls. This post is so overdue, so for those of you who have been waiting to see pictures I apologise now,  but I'm really excited to finally be blogging about it. A few weeks ago now, I was really lucky and was picked as the winner of Aussie's Summer Sizzle Competition and won an amazing VIP weekend for myself and five of my friends to the Boardmasters Festival down in Newquay. Not only did we get to hang out with the lovely girls from Aussie at an amazing festival, my friends and I also got to sleep in a luxury Tipi the whole weekend and had a two hour surfing lesson on one of Newquay's gorgeous beaches. If you would like to see my entry post for this competition, you can read it here.

Now before I get into the ins and outs of what we got up to, I would love to say a huge thank you to the Aussie Girls, Holly, Lucy and Margherita (and the rest of you ) for making this weekend Aussome and fabulous in every way and I would just like to say that I had the most amazing time EVER!

The weekend started with us taking the long drive down to Newquay. I had never been to this part of England before and was totally taken back with how beautiful and gorgeous the place was. We were so fortunate to have lovely weather that weekend and because it was so gorgeous it allowed us to take full advantage of the glorious beaches. After doing some much needed sunbathing on the beach after the long car journey, we settled into our Tipi , which was amazing! I can honestly say I've never stayed in a Tipi before, but if I had to describe it I would have to use the words, cozy, spacious and a great way to make camping all that more fun!

Aussie were amazing the whole weekend and even treated us girlies to some Aussome Aussie goodie bags, which contained all the much needed hair essentials to get us though a festival weekend. We were also treated with these amazing Aussie printed Tee's which had our Twitter names printed out on the back. Needless to say us Aussie girls attracted a lot of attention in our Aussie gear with a lot of the festival goers thinking we were handing out free hair care or there to pamper everyone!

For anyone who is unsure about the Boardmasters Festival, its a great mix of live music, surfing, BMX and skating competitions, so the atmosphere around Newquay over the weekend was one what was buzzing. The girls and I really enjoyed the surfing lesson and boy did we rock the surfing chic look in our sexy wetsuits! We were told by the instructor that it wasn't the best day for hitting the waves, simply because the weather was too lush. But the girls and I made do and we had a lot of fun trying to stand up on those surf boards.

As any beauty knows, the sea and wind can cause havoc even with the most amazing locks and needless to say our hair wasn't looking its finest after the surfing lesson. But Aussie being amazing as they are were at our rescue, as they treated us all to a pamper session and as a result we all had our hair beautifully curled for the festival that evening.

Not only did we have a lot of fun chilling out in the day with all the other happy campers, I think it was all agreed that the live music was amazing, with Ed Sheeran, Dizzee Rascall, Zane Lowe and DJ Fresh headlining. We had such fun partying away and not only did we sing and dance along to all the music but between acts it was a lot of fun hanging out in our VIP bar with all the other important peeps.

Overall the weekend was just brilliant, and it was a lot of firsts for me, the biggest one, was popping my festival cherry! I can honestly say I've now gotten the festival bug! Aussie were amazing and all us girls did a lot of bonding and had the most Aussome Aussie time.

I took so many pictures over the weekend, far too many to fit on this one blog post. But for those of you who would like to see more of what we got up too, I've uploaded everything to Pineterest which you can see here!

Were you at the Boardmasters Festival? Let me know beauties

Lots of Love
