The Spring Essentials - My Top Beauty Picks

Whenever I think of spring beauty essentials, pretty pinks, soft smokey eyes and dewy skin always come to mind. For me theres something really refreshing about the change of the seasons and the start of spring starts that countdown to summer. I think generally everyones moods uplift a little this time of year. One thing that really allows me to embrace the change of the seasons is changing up my makeup a little bit. So today I've brought a few of my favourite beauty bits together which I think will be perfect for spring and are an essential in any makeup bag.

L'Oreal True Match Foundation

One of the first things that gets switched up in my makeup bag this time of year has to be foundation. During the colder wintery months I like something with a little more coverage. But spring time is all about that fresh glowly dewy skin. I love it when your skin has that 'I'm not wearing any makeup' makeup look, if you know what I mean. Whilst there are loads of amazing medium to light coverage foundations available, I love reaching for the L'Oreal True Match Foundation. I have combination skin and the light foundations have a tendency to melt off my skin very quickly, so I find the True Match gives my skin that natural skin look but still gives me the coverage that I need.

Bourjois Smokey Stories Palette - Over Rose 

No matter what the season I love a smokey eye, but like I mentioned before, for me spring daytime looks are all about soft colours and minimal makeup. This quad eyeshadow palette from Bourjois is perfect for spring. In this palette you get the perfect standard light pink highlight colour, a gorgeous dusty pink shade, a warm dark chocolate shade and a glittery shimmery pink in the centre. These pink toned shadows create such a pretty eye look for spring and the quad allows me to create so many different looks. Another lovely thing about this palette is that each shadow is very pigmented, blends well and has great staying power - Definitely an essential in my makeup bag.

Mac Lipstick - Honeylove

Mac's Honeylove is my most recent Mac purchase and a lipstick that has been on the top of my wish list for some time. As you know I've got a thing for nudes at the moment, and whilst I'm still loving the likes of Velvet Teddy and Brave, I was after something a little bit lighter for spring and Honeylove is that perfect shade. I find it to be a light toned nude which has a slight pink tint to it, so it does't wash my lips out in any way. It's matte formula is in no way drying and last hours on my lips. This lipstick not only looks really fresh and neutral for spring, but it also looks amazing paired with a lip gloss. I have a full review coming up on this lipstick very soon, so be sure to keep a look out for it. 

Smashbox Always Sharp Waterproof Kohl Liner

This eyeliner from Smashbox has become a bit of a staple in my makeup bag ever since I received it, but now it's spring I know I'm going to be reaching for it even more. Around this time of year I don't like to wear anything too heavy or dramatic on my eyes and love a more softer eye look. Kohl liners are not only great for creating that perfect smokey eye look, but I love the way that you can blend them out for a much more softer look. This one from Smashbox is really amazing, it's long lasting, sets pretty quickly and it sharpens itself every time you twist the lid off to use it - Which is a huge bonus as I can never find a sharpener when my pencils go blunt. 

Bourjois Little Round Pot Cream Blush - #03 Rose Tender 

It's the time of year where I say a big hello to cream blushers and my favourite ones have to be the Bourjois Little Round Pots. My most reached for cream blush has to be in the shade Rose Tender as its gorgeous and gives your skin most beautiful and natural rosy cheeked look. I am just loving this pale pinks for spring and this blush really helps to achieve a gorgeous spring look 

Yves Rocher La Parfum Comme Une Evidence 

Not only do I want to change up my makeup look for the new season, I like to change up my fragrance too. Recently I've been loving this beautiful sweet scented floral perfume from Yves Rocher. This perfume is really light and has a lovely rose scent to it making it the perfect daytime fragrance for spring. Whenever I wear this, I get so many compliments and it's always great to hear that you smell nice. Not only does this perfume smell great, but the bottle is absolutely stunning too and I love the pump that disperses the perfume. It's a spring time winner. 

As you can see there are a lot of pink in this post but I really love ditching the darker colours that come with winter and swapping them with pink toned shades that really warm up and brighten up my complexion. Yves Rocher Le Parfum Comme Une Evidence

February really is the month of love with it being Valentines day and all, but aside from this, for me it's one of those months that really start to get me in the mood for spring. It's around this time of year that I start to make those transitional changes, especially with my makeup and more importantly my fragrance. 

One perfume that I've been loving recently is the Yves Rocher Comme Une Evidence L'Extrait de Parfum, it's one of those really light and stunningly beautiful floral scents that's just so feminine and girly to wear. If you love floral scented perfumes that are not too sweet smelling, keep reading as this perfume will be perfect for you and a great addition to your dresser.

First of all, how gorgeous is the packaging? I've always wanted to own a perfume that has one of those vintage style pumps that you press to disburse the perfume. I just love the style of this bottle, and again this way of spraying on your perfume just makes this bottle all the more special. It get's top marks if you're one of these girls like me who love to display your perfume on your dresser - With this design it really stands out.

As for the scent, like I mentioned this one is just lovely - It's such a lovely light spring scent that is perfect for everyday wear. As soon as I spray this I can instantly smell rose, which is a smell that I personally love - I love anything girly. Secondly I can smell Jasmine, which is another scent that I absolutely adore - Jasmine has to be one of my favourite scents and the Jasmine running though this perfume really adds a more sensual smell to it.  Other notes in this perfume are Bergamot, Violet Leaves and Patchouli which all blended together makes a wonderful floral scented perfume that has depth and layers to it. 

Overall I love this perfume, and it wears for hours with only a few sprays needed. Whenever I wear this I always get compliments and asked what scent I'm wearing. If you're looking for a new floral scented perfume I promise you, you won't go wrong with this one.

Perfect Pamper Nights with Yves Rocher

Happy New Year everyone, I hope its been a good one for you. I can't quite believe we are in January and as much as I am ready to take this new year on, I must admit I am a little sad that all the festivity and party season is officially over. With all that celebrating, busy days and long nights, January for me all about pampering myself and getting my body beautiful for the new year. Yves Rocher Organic Oats Silky Cream* £13.50

First of all how beautifully presented is this body lotion? I know packaging is not everything, but just looking at this gets me in the mood for a good pamper. If you've read my blog for sometime you will know that when it comes to skincare, moisturisers are my favourite thing - Without a doubt, I'll find the time to coat my body in beautiful scented products twice a day which is a little obsessive I know! I have to say I was a little intrigued by this moisturiser as I've never used a skincare product that contains oats before. Yves Rocher sate that the natural oats are very soothing for you skin and help to protect it, which is exactly what my skin needed after all the partying. 

This lotion feels and smells just as good as it looks and I've enjoyed using it immensely; It's new home takes pride of place on the beauty self in my bathroom, so its there ready for me to apply straight out of the shower or bath.  For such an intense and creamy lotion, its so lightweight and works into your skin with ease, it also leaves no horrible sticky sensation behind which is always a huge plus for me. My skin has never felt so soft! What I really love about this lotion is that it smells gorgeous, and it has a really natural sweet smell that is not overpowering and really lingers on your skin hours after application. I think this would be perfect if you suffer with sensitive skin too as all Yves Rocher products contain  natural ingredients.

Yves Rocher Beaute Des Mains Hand Lotion* £2.20

Hard working hands definitely need a rich and intense hand lotion and this one has made it into my bag over the last few weeks. No matter what I do to try to look after my hands they are always left feeling dry and never as soft as what they should be, the cold weather really doesn't help them at all. However this hand lotion has been a great helping hand at making my little mitts a little more smoother and softer again and it's one of those lotions that provides an instant hit of moisture when you first use it. I love the way my hands feel after using this - Non sticky, super hydrated and beautifully scented. I don't think any products will ever get my hands baby soft again, but I'm hoping if I continue to use this hand lotion up I will start to see more of a permanent change. 

Yves Rocher Beaute Pieds Foot Beauty Care* £3.50

Out of all the pamper products featured in this post, this gel has to be that product that gives me the most satisfaction when using it and makes me have one of those 'ahhh' moments. If you're on your feet all day the Beaute Pieds Foot Beauty Care is worth investing in, especially if you don't have anyone around to give you a foot massage. This lavender scented gel provides an instant cooling effect once applied on your feet and it makes you feet feel a million times lighter. Standing up all day wearing heels really does take its toll on my tootsies and I just love the tingly smooth feeling that this gels provides. This works great on your legs too.

Coconut Fizzy Bath Cube* £1.50

 For me no pamper night is complete without a bath and if your like me and enjoy a luxurious bath and the smell of coconuts then you will adore this little coconut scented bath cube. I just popped this little bath fizz into the running water and it bubbles, fizzes and melts away leaving and its coconut scent behind, whisking me away to sunnier and more tropical climates. I had one of the loveliest baths ever using this, it was just so relaxing and the bath fizz left my skin feeling ever so soft and smelling of coconuts, it was lovely.
