Makeup Revolution Amazing Lip Liners || Review & Swatches
Hi everyone, I hope your all having a lovely bank holiday weekend! I've actually been so exited to get this post up for you today because as a lot of you know I love lipsticks! Recently I have been obsessed with lip liners and finding the perfect shades to match my favourite lipsticks. Now that I've started lining my lips (Thanks Kylie Jenner) I can't stop and my lips don't look nearly as full without it.
Whilst I've made it my own personal mission to find those must having winning lip liners, I was beyond excited to hear that one of my favourite makeup brands Makeup Revolution have released eight gorgeous lip liners of their own and I was lucky enough to get my hands on them - Cue excitement!! I'm sure you all know by now but some of my favourite lipsticks are from Makeup Revolution (Ken Will Want Me - I'm looking at you!) Its great that Makeup Revolution have not only brought out some amazing shades to wear with your favourite lipsticks, but liners that will also match some of their lipsticks perfectly.
Before I go into detail as to why I love each shade I think it's important to go over why these lip liners are so fantastic. First of all I love the design of them, the pencils are coloured to match the exact shade of the liner which makes it easy to grab first thing in the morning. Secondly the pencil sharper on the lid of the pencil is just genius! There is nothing worst that using a blunt pencil, so it's really handy having one of the top of the lid.
As for the quality of the lip liners, I can honestly say I'm amazed especially as they only cost £1.00 each - Such a bargain. Each lip liner is fairly creamy, super pigmented and isn't too drying on your lips either. This combination makes the lip liners so good as they can be worn just to draw the outline of your lips or be worn all over the lip.
Starting with the lightest shades in the collection, 'The One' and "Nearly Naked' are not shades that I would want to wear all over my lips as they are incredibly light. The One is the only nude lip liner in the collection and it really is a pale nude and works great with all my light toned nudes, especially Mac's Honeylove. I really love that Makeup Revolution already have a nude toned lipstick called 'The One' which is the exact same shade as this liner, these two together really do make the perfect nude lip. The light pink shade (bottom) is called 'Nearly Naked'. I've not used this yet as it's such a pale milky pink, it almost looks white. I don't wear lipsticks this light so I would have to say it's my least favourite, however for such a light shade its incredibly pigmented.
The next two shades are what I would call the girly girl pinks and they are the perfect liners to match any pretty girl pink lipsticks in your collection. The top picture shows off 'Baby Pink' and the name for this lipliner describes the shade perfectly, it really is such a soft pink. The bottom picture is 'Soft Pink' which is probably one of my favourites in the collection as it's such a soft blue toned pink and works with so many different lipsticks, especially Mac's chatterbox.
Another two lipliners which really stand out for me in the collection are 'Bold Pink' (top) and 'Cherry Red' (bottom). These two lipliners are stunning and look amazing on, especially Cherry Red. I would describe 'Cherry Red' as a bright pink fuchsia and it looks so gorgeous on, it reminds me a little bit of Mac's Impassioned. As for 'Bold Pink' again the name describes this shade perfectly, it's a really fun vibrant bubblegum pink with blue undertones. I have a lot of lipsticks in these two colours so I know I'm going to get so much use out of these liners.
The darkest shades in the collection are 'Rebel' (top) and 'Vamp' (bottom). I have to say it's so nice to be able to add some darker pink/purple toned lip liners to my collection. I think it's always best to use a lip liner with darker lipstick and these two shades are so perfect, I know I'm going to be able to pair them with so many lipsticks. Rebel is a deep pinky purple shade and it reminds me a little bit of Mac's rebel. I don't own it (yet) but I think if you did this would pair beautifully with it. As for 'Vamp' OMG it's gorgeous! During winter I love wearing berry toned lipsticks so Vamp I'm sure will come in handy and become a favourite towards the end of the year.
As you can see these amazing lip liners are amazing! I'm so pleased Makeup revolution finally released them as they have so many lipcticks, it's great to be able to find the matching lipliners to some of the shades. I really hope that MR add a few reds, corals and oranges to the collection too as I feel it's missing these and I do love wearing a red lip! Like I said earlier the quality of these liners are amazing and for £1.00 you can't go wrong!
I would love to know what your thoughts are on these lip liners? What shades will you be picking up? Let me know in the comments below.

Top Winter Berry Shades
Swatches L'Oreal 'Juliet' | Rimmel '107' | L'Oreal 'Feeric Fuchsia' | Revlon 'Raspberry Pie' | Revlon 'Cherries In The Snow'
Being the lipstick lover that I am, I really love how this time of year allows us to be a little more daring with our choices of lipstick. Nothing says hello Christmas like a beautiful deep berry red shade on the lips. When I think of Christmas I always imagine bright pillar box red shades as a first choice of lipstick, but having said this I feel that I don't really suit red lipstick. I find fuchsia's and dark berry shades much more flattering on for me and as a result I've built up quite the collection of these gorgeous berry toned lipsticks. Today I thought I would give you ladies a little run down of my top five winter berry shades and why I love to wear these shades this time of year...
L'Oreal Glam Shine Stain Splash | Juliet
I've been a big fan of these lip stains from L'Oreal, not only do they look glossy on but once these are on your lips they simply wont budge and you have a gorgeous colour payout on your lips for the entire day. Sometimes dark shades on your lips can be a little messy and there is always the fear of a red lipstick smudging whilst on. However this gloss/stain will not budge at all. Juliet is a bright berry red with a hint of orange running though it; Once on it appears quite a dark red on your lips and its that perfect Christmas red. I wore this non stop when I picked it up at the beginning of the year and if you would like to see what it looks like on the lips you can find my review and swatches here.
Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate Moss | 107
How could I have a top five winter berry lip shades and not include the infamous Kate Moss lipstick in the shade 107. I have to say this lipstick is a fairly new edition in my collection, I was really late on the bandwagon in picking one up - But it didn't take me long at all to fall head over heels in love with this lippie. This lipstick has to be one of the darkest that I own, admittedly it does look a little too dark for me in its casing but once on the shade looks gorgeous and is really wearable. I would describe this shade of red as a bit of a vampy one and it does have that really dark red wine look to it - which is perfect for this time of year. I love wearing in this in the daytime with minimal makeup elsewhere and slightly rosy cheeks from the cold and the wind - it really makes this lipstick the vocal point of your makeup look.
L'Oreal Color Riche | Feeric Fuchsia
I picked this lipstick up as a freebie as one of L'Oreal promotions last year and I appologise in advance as I do believe that this shade is limited edition - But I love it so much that I couldn't ignore it. For me, this is the perfect Christmas Shade, not only is it a deep dark berry toned fuchsia shade, but it's also packed with tiny finely milled pink glitter. The glitter is so small that you can feel it at all on your lips, and in fairness you can't really see it once its on your lips - However the glitter finish does make this lipstick look quite glossy on, even though the lipstick does have more of a matte finish. I love how creamy and smooth this lipstick feels on and it always makes me feel so festive when wearing it.
Revlon Lip Butter | Raspberry Pie
In the summer I feel that I reach for the Revlon lip butters ever such a lot and during the winter months they take a bit of a backseat - all apart from Raspberry Pie. Raspberry Pie is a rich and pigmented raspberry colour that just looks divine once applied. It has that super glossy, high shine finish and creamy texture that we're all familiar with when it comes to these Lipbutter's. I am still a huge fan of this product and its finish, especially with how glossy it looks once on. I'll always find myself reaching for this if my lips are feeling a little bit dry because of the cold, but I'm still wanting to wear a dark berry red on my lips too.
Revlon | Cherries In The Snow
If you love bright pinks all year round, but are looking for a shade that is just that little bit darker for winter then 'Cherries In The Snow' is the perfect addition to your lipstick collection. This lipstick is a really bold and vibrant fuchsia pink that has a gorgeous creamy finish to it. I love wearing this on those days where I'm really wanting to brighten my look up. If your not a fan of the pillar box red lipstick shade then this is a perfect alternative. Even the name of this lipstick suggests that it's the perfect wintery shade - I love it.
So there we have it, my top five Winter berry shades. I am a little bit addicted to wearing these lip colours at the moment and am always looking for more shades to add to my collection. I would love to know what your perfect go to winter lip is, be sure to let me know in the comments below.

Bourjois Rouge Edition Lipstick - Neon Rose
I think it's fair to say that the majority of us beauty bloggers have a big weakness when it comes to lipstick- I know the sight of a pretty pink lipstick makes me go a little giddy and I have no shame in sharing with you all that I've added another one to my collection - The Bourjois Rouge Edition Lipstick in the shade Neon Rose. I am a huge fan of Bourjois products, their chocolate bronzer and lovable pots of blush being a favourite of mine, but for some unknown reason I've always bypassed their lipstick range. But on a whim in Boots the other day I decided to pretty much swatch every lippie Bourjois had to offer and came home with this little beauty.
The Rouge Edition Lipstick is a highly pigmented lipstick that has been enriched with orchid blossom extract which makes it glide on to the lips with ease and give your lips a lovely glossy finish. As soon as you apply this lipstick you feel how it gives your lips a boost of hydration which is long lasting and makes your lips feel so smooth. The finish of this lipstick reminds me of the same finish of Mac's Lustre lipsticks, which is one of my favourites, so this lipstick gets a huge thumbs up from me. Normally highly pigmented lipsticks seam to have a matte finish, but the Rouge Edition lipsticks have great pigmentation which is pretty true to the colour that you see in the tube - And because it has a moisutising and glossy look to it, it gives your lips that wet look finish, creating the illusion of much fuller and plumper lips.
I decided to pick up shade 12 Neon Rose which is this gorgeous blue toned pink that has a bubblegum look to it. As soon as I popped this on to my lips it instantly reminded me of Mac's Chatterbox, which is another favourite of mine. Mac's Chatterbox is from the Amplified collection, which means it's long lasting and has a matte finish, so its great to find something that is pretty much the same shade, but has a glossy finish to it instead which I love. If you've been lusting after Chatterbox for some time then Neon Rose is a great dupe in terms of colour.
Not only Neon Rose give your lips a gorgeous pop of colour, it also pretty long lasting, which I wasn't expecting due to the type of finish on it. I find that this lasts for a good 3 hours before it starts to fade and needs re-applying. Even when it does start to fade, it leaves more of a stain on your lips, whist still keeping your lips hydrated at the same time. I even love the packaging of this lipstick, the sleek black casing gives it an expensive feel and I love how you can see the product at the bottom, which makes it easy to find in your makeup bag.
Overall I'm really impressed with the Rouge Edition lipstick from Bourjois and with them having 18 different shades on offer I plan on adding a few more to my collection. I currently have my eye on 'Pretty Prune' a deep berry red (perfect for winter) and 'Orange Pop Up' a lovely coral orange shade. I picked mine up from Boots for £7.99.
Have you tried any of the Rouge Edition Lipsticks? What shades are you loving?

Maybelline Baby Lips Cherry Me || Review
I think it's fair to say that the beauty world has gone a little crazy over the ever so hyped 'Baby Lips' lip balm from Maybelline and I'm sure your timeline has been filled with thousands of reviews of this product - So I appologise in advance for adding another one into the mix, but I really wanted to give you my thoughts on this hugely talked about product. I have to say when I saw vloggers from across the pond talk about the Baby Lips, I was desperate to get my hands on one or two. But as soon as they were released in the UK my excitement seamed to have faded a little and I was in no rush whatsoever rush down to Boots, get in line and pop one in my basket. I can only put this down to hearing so many mixed reviews about the product since it hit our shelves - So many of you girls were telling me that it's just a lip balm and was completely overrated. I seriously contemplated not picking one up just because I have far too many lip balms floating around in my collection. However, I had to take a little trip into Boots the other day and when I saw the Baby Lips sat on the shelf the beauty blogger in me could not resit and without giving it a second thought I popped one in my basket and headed straight to the till...
There was quite a selection of Baby Lips to choose from, but I decided to limit myself to just one and picked up 'Cherry Me'. As you can see from the pictures it's lip balm that is a bright cherry pink colour and in the tube the colour looks gorgeous. I usually stay well away from tinted lip balms as I'm always disappointed with the colour pay out, but this one looked so pretty that I couldn't resist. I have to say when I applied 'Cherry Me' to my lips I was pleasantly surprised with the colour payout. It gives your lips a lovely flush of colour which does resemble the colour that you see in its packaging - It's a very berry pink toned red. Although it does look really bright, the actual colour of these applied is really sheer which it's perfect for those minimal makeup days where your just wanting give your lips the faintest pop of colour.
As for moisturising and keeping your lips hydrated the Maybelline Baby Lips does a pretty good job at just doing that. As soon as you apply it, it feels ever so silky and smooth on your lips and it doesn't feel too waxy on either. However I do find that after an hour or so my lips can feel a little dry and you do need reapply quite a few times if your wanting to keep your lips looking glossy and shiny and of course keep the flush of colour on your lips as this can fade pretty sharpish too.
Overall I really like the product and I'm pleased that I picked one up. I don't think that I'm in any rush to get the whole collection as there are much better lip balms out there, but I think for now this will be my most reached for lip balm and the fact that it has SPF 20 is a nice little plus. For me, I really think the packaging of the Baby Lips adds to the whole appeal of this product, from the big fat lettering on the packaging to the bright orange tube that holds the product - It's very fun and for some reason reminds me of my childhood which gives it that nostalgic feel to it.
If your like me and have been debating on picking up a Baby Lips then I would definitely say they are worth picking up and for £2.99 you can't really go wrong and I'm quite enjoying using it - Just keep in mind that it is just a lip balm and it's not going to blow your socks off, but it's a fun cute product all the same and for this reason it gets a thumbs up from me.
I would love to know what your thoughts are on the Baby Lips and if your enjoying using them. If I were to pick up another one, what one would you recommend I pick up? Let me know your favourite!
