When it comes to makeup, it feels like the world has become contoured obsessed and I can completely see why. I literally have no cheekbones so I love anything that will help sculpt the features on my face. And it goes without saying that contouring and highlighting go hand in hand, who could pass by on a bit of highlight? Certainly not me!

When it comes to contouring and highlighting I have to say that I've always stuck with what I know. By this I mean I've only used powder based products to sculpt and highlight. I had seen cream based products around, but as someone who has always had oily skin I've always been a bit afraid to add anything creamy on to my skin. However I learnt that this was not the case and never to assume that something won't suit your skin type without trying it first. I'll say now cream contour is suitable for everyone!

I was really lucky enough to get my hands on the Makeup Revolution Ultra Cream Contour Palette, which I must admit did scare me at first. But after soon realising that the cream to powder products didn't cause my makeup or face to slip and slide, I've soon become obsessed with this new way of contouring and this palette has become a favourite of mine.

The Ultra Cream Contour Palette is just amazing; Not only does it come in a large palette with full size mirror (which is perfect for doing your makeup in) it also comes with eight different shades that are perfect for getting your contour and highlight on point. I think theres a really great range of shades in the palette, ones which will suit everyone. I must admit I don't use all the shades as I prefer some to others, but I have tried them all and all work perfectly.

The four bronzing shades at the bottom are great for adding some definition to your face and really enhance your cheekbones which I love! I find the bottom left one is my go to shade, its a really warm brown that blends out so beautifully. The top row is where all the magic happens with your highlighting. I really love how theres also a yellow toned shade which I love using under my eyes.

I really enjoy using this palette, although I will be the first to hold my hands up and says that a bit of practice and technique is required when it comes to cream contouring. By no means have I mastered it yet, but I'm really starting to get the hang of it now and am loving the results. One thing that has really helped me apply these cream products are the Makeup Revolution Ultra Sculpt & Blend Kit (review here), it really comes with everything you need to get your cream contour perfect.

The biggest question you may be asking yourself now is why choose to cream contour over powder? I thought the exact same, but the reason why I'm loving my cream contour is that it gives me a much more natural finish and I find that my skin looks so much brighter and healthier too. I honestly can't see me swathing back to my normal contour routine anytime soon!

If your wanting to give cream contouring ago, I can't recommend this palette enough - You can pick it up from the Makeup Revolution website here. I would love to know what your favourite way to contour is? Also if you have any tips for me on cream contouring then please share them in the comments below.

One of my favourite things about makeup has to be the way it can completely and totally transform your look, with a few strokes of a brush and a bit of product I love how I can turn myself from a zombie from the Walking Dead into a sun kissed goddess in a matter of minutes. Both of these extremes and totally not true I know, but you get the idea! The point I am making is that makeup is just generally amazing. One of my favourite trends with makeup and has been since Kim K popped on the scene has been the art of contouring. For the longest of time I've tried, tested and have perfected what is my everyday contour look and I am literally obsessed with buying and tying out new products that help me get those cheekbones!

For a little while now I have been wanting to get my hands on the Anastasia Beverly Hills contour palette which I always seen frequently used by Shaaanxo on YouTube. Shannon's makeup is always on point and she has to be my favourite beauty babe. As it's a product she swears by it's a no brainer that I need it in my need to have it in my makeup collection. Having not quite gotten around to purchase this must have palette for contour, there has been a little makeup void in my life. So you can only imagine my excitement when one of my favourite makeup brands, Makeup Revolution released their Ultra Contour Kit! Hurray! Dupe Alert!

From the minute I set eyes on this palette, it was literally love at first sight. You only have to look at the kit to see its beauty and its range of powders that can create the most perfect contour and highlight. The kit contains 8 powders, 5 of them which have a perfect matte finish, one a satin and the other two are baked which remind me of the Mac Mineralise Skin Finishes.

Having experimented with this palette for the last two weeks I can honestly report back that it is as good as it looks and I've been reaching for it daily. For me this kit really has no limits and I can find a use for pretty much every shade within the kit. I've found my favourites for defining my cheekbones (the bottom left) and I love mixing the shades a little to create different colour combinations. My choice in highlight depends on what makeup look I'm going for that day, but the baked bronzed highlight on the bottom right of the palette leaves the most incredible sun kissed finish.

As well as contouring and highlighting this palette can also be put to other uses. I've tried using some of the shades as eyeshadows and used some of the lighter highlight shades to set the concealer under my eyes for a much more flawless finish. One thing that amazes me is the quality of each powder. They are all finely milled and blend beautifully, which is just what you need for contouring.

Obsessed is the one word that comes to mind with this contour kit, I honestly can't get enough of it. For £8.00 I think its excellent value for money. I can't recommend it enough. I would love to know what your thoughts are on this, are you planning on picking one up?

November Favourites

Hi gorgeous girls and a big fat hello to DECEMBER!! I can't believe the magical and most wonderful month of the year is finally here. I absolutely love December and have been counting down the days for it to start all the way back at the beginning of November. Not only does December mean that the countdown to Christmas officially starts, but its also the month of my Birthday which always adds that extra bit of excitement.  I cannot wait to get the Christmas decorations up this week and turn my place into a little grotto. I also really need to make a start on Christmas shopping which is another must for this week. Anyway excitement aside I thought seeing as it's the first of December today I would share with you all what I was loving last month...

Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Body Buttercream and Smoothie Star Body Buttercream

When it comes to body butters, Soap & Glory are always a brand that I turn too. I've always been a religious user of their infamous Righteous Body Butter as its just heavenly. However as Boots where having 3 for 2 offer across all Soap & Glory products I thought I would branch out and give the Sugar Crush and Smoothie Star body butters ago. I've always heard so many amazing things about these two products around the bloggosphere , especially the Sugar Crush range.  I have to say it has been pretty much love at first smell with these two products as they are just incredible. Not only do they both smell good enough to eat, they do such a brilliant job and nourishing and hydrating my skin and they are an absolute pleasure to use.

Rimmel Lasting Finish Matte by Kate Moss - Shade 107

When it comes to Winter makeup, a red lip is always a favourite for me. For the longest of time I had been meaning to pick up the blogger favourite, Kate Moss Lipstick from Rimmel in the shade 107. This lipstick is such a gorgeous deep vampy red and is perfect for this time of year. I have to be honest I was a little bit concerned with this lipstick having a matte finish as I much prefer a buttery finish, but this shade just looks so gorgeous on. It's really long lasting and for such a deep red its extremely wearable, I love it and I can see this being my go too lipstick in December too.

L'Oreal Volume Million Lashes

If you've been reading my blog for sometime you will know that the L'Oreal Volume Million Lashes has to be one of my holy grail mascaras, its perfect for adding length to your lashes and most importantly adding lots of volume. I did a whole post dedicated to this mascara a little while ago if you would like to check it out. With this mascara I feel no need to add false lashes at all as it gives a great false lash effect, if your looking to open up your eyes and make your lashes flutter I really recommend that you ladies give this one ago.

No7 Perfectly Bronzed Dual Bronzer

I wont go into too much detail as I did a whole review on the No7 Perfectly Bronzed Dual Bronzer a few weeks ago which you can find here. I think No7 products often get overlooked in the beauty world, but there are some hidden little gems in the No7 range and this bronzer is one of them. I find it's the perfect bronzer for contouring and gives your skin that gorgeous summer glow.

St Moriz Self Tanning Lotion - Dark

Ah, you ladies will know that when it comes to fake tanning, I'm a little addicted.  I'm one of these girls who just feels so much better when my skin is a gorgeous shade of bronze. When it comes to tanning products I've tried my fair share but I always find myself going back to the cheap and cheerful St Moriz. I much prefer the lotion formula to the mousse as I find that it's a lot less drying on your skin. I love the colour payout of the St Moriz tan as its a really deep tan colour but looks ever so natural at the same time. I've been using it quite a lot over November and its definitely one of the best self tanners that I've tried.

So that's everything for my monthly favourites, I would love to know what you've been loving this month ladies - Be sure to let me know in the comments below.
