Hi Girls. This post is so overdue, so for those of you who have been waiting to see pictures I apologise now, but I'm really excited to finally be blogging about it. A few weeks ago now, I was really lucky and was picked as the winner of Aussie's Summer Sizzle Competition and won an amazing VIP weekend for myself and five of my friends to the Boardmasters Festival down in Newquay. Not only did we get to hang out with the lovely girls from Aussie at an amazing festival, my friends and I also got to sleep in a luxury Tipi the whole weekend and had a two hour surfing lesson on one of Newquay's gorgeous beaches. If you would like to see my entry post for this competition, you can read it here.
Now before I get into the ins and outs of what we got up to, I would love to say a huge thank you to the Aussie Girls, Holly, Lucy and Margherita (and the rest of you ) for making this weekend Aussome and fabulous in every way and I would just like to say that I had the most amazing time EVER!
The weekend started with us taking the long drive down to Newquay. I had never been to this part of England before and was totally taken back with how beautiful and gorgeous the place was. We were so fortunate to have lovely weather that weekend and because it was so gorgeous it allowed us to take full advantage of the glorious beaches. After doing some much needed sunbathing on the beach after the long car journey, we settled into our Tipi , which was amazing! I can honestly say I've never stayed in a Tipi before, but if I had to describe it I would have to use the words, cozy, spacious and a great way to make camping all that more fun!
Aussie were amazing the whole weekend and even treated us girlies to some Aussome Aussie goodie bags, which contained all the much needed hair essentials to get us though a festival weekend. We were also treated with these amazing Aussie printed Tee's which had our Twitter names printed out on the back. Needless to say us Aussie girls attracted a lot of attention in our Aussie gear with a lot of the festival goers thinking we were handing out free hair care or there to pamper everyone!
For anyone who is unsure about the Boardmasters Festival, its a great mix of live music, surfing, BMX and skating competitions, so the atmosphere around Newquay over the weekend was one what was buzzing. The girls and I really enjoyed the surfing lesson and boy did we rock the surfing chic look in our sexy wetsuits! We were told by the instructor that it wasn't the best day for hitting the waves, simply because the weather was too lush. But the girls and I made do and we had a lot of fun trying to stand up on those surf boards.
As any beauty knows, the sea and wind can cause havoc even with the most amazing locks and needless to say our hair wasn't looking its finest after the surfing lesson. But Aussie being amazing as they are were at our rescue, as they treated us all to a pamper session and as a result we all had our hair beautifully curled for the festival that evening.
Not only did we have a lot of fun chilling out in the day with all the other happy campers, I think it was all agreed that the live music was amazing, with Ed Sheeran, Dizzee Rascall, Zane Lowe and DJ Fresh headlining. We had such fun partying away and not only did we sing and dance along to all the music but between acts it was a lot of fun hanging out in our VIP bar with all the other important peeps.
Overall the weekend was just brilliant, and it was a lot of firsts for me, the biggest one, was popping my festival cherry! I can honestly say I've now gotten the festival bug! Aussie were amazing and all us girls did a lot of bonding and had the most Aussome Aussie time.
I took so many pictures over the weekend, far too many to fit on this one blog post. But for those of you who would like to see more of what we got up too, I've uploaded everything to Pineterest which you can see here!
Were you at the Boardmasters Festival? Let me know beauties
Lots of Love
