Bondi Sands Self Tanning Foam - Full Review

Bit of an unrelated mum post for you all today, but I felt like taking it back to how I used to blog a few years ago and talk about beauty. I actually can't remember the last time I posted about a beauty item and I know so many of you are still around for those posts, so here we are. Back when I first started my blog, I used to have a mini series called 'Bronze me Beautiful' so this post is a little ode to that because todays topic is all about the tanning life and what tanning products I'm obsessed with right now.

If you follow me on Twitter or Instagram then you may have seen me posting my holiday pictures. I've not been away properly now for over two years, so having two weeks of pure relaxation, sunbathing and chilling out is pure bliss. As I'm away I thought it would be exciting (for you and me) to get some holiday themed posts up as I don't get the chance to do so very often. I know a lot of you are also going away this year, so today I thought it would be appropriate to share with you how I prepare my skin to get holiday ready.

I'm sure I'm not alone when the immediate thing I think about when going abroad is getting my tan on! Let's face it we wall want to come back home and make everyone at home jealous with our golden tan, I know it shouldn't but it gives me great satisfaction having a gorgeous colour that won't rub off. However sunbathing takes some serious dedication and with all the hard work we put in to catching those rays it's important that we look after our tans so that we get the most out of it whilst on holiday and for when we come back.

My top tip would have to be exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate! I know most of you will have this step included in your weekly skincare routine anyway, but before I go away anywhere hot I make sure that it's a priority. Like I said I want my sun tan to last as long as possible and I find that the more dead skin cells (gross) that I remove before hand the longer my tan is going to last.

There as so many amazing exfoliates out their but right now I'm currently loving the Make Believe Spa & Polish Exfoliator. For those of you who haven't heard of Make Believe they are a brand that specialise in fake tan, which I highly recommend by the way (see my post on some of their beauty products here). Sometimes with certain exfoliators I can find them to be a bit harsh on my sensitive skin, but I just love the way the Make Believe feels on my skin. It does a great job at buffing away any old skin but is really gentle at the same time. I think this is because the exfoliating beads are quite small and they're not as rough as what you find in other exfoliators. Also this one contains Argan Oil which really does a great job at nourishing my skin.

Another reason why this Spa & Polish is one is my current favourite has to be its scent - It smells so lovely and refreshing and has a little bit of a holiday sort of smell to it, it's gorgeous. It's so one of the only exfoliators I've used that actually leaves my skin soft and feeling hydrated. Usually when exfoliating I can't wait to get my favourite body butters out as I feel my skin needs a hydration boost, but this one actually leaves my skin feeling so soft and its gorgeous scent lingers around on my body for a few hours too. It's honestly one of the best that I've tried.

Back on topic, before I leave on holiday around two weeks before hand I start exfoliating my body a few times a week instead of the one and stay clear from any products that have any tan in them. I want base of my skin to be perfectly prepped before I leave and I always think remaining fake tan on your skin can cause your real tan to go patchy.

Along side with exfoliating I also love to use a light moisturiser all over my body and I do this religiously every evening. I just think having a great base makes for a perfect tan. And that's that, my two steps to ensure that I get the most of my holiday tan, I know it's pretty simple but I thought I'd share in case any of you are heading away this summer. It's basically my usual routine but a little more intense.

I would love to know what your top tips are for holiday skin, please share with me your secrets on how to prolong your tan when you come home?

Lots of Love

Bronze Me Beautiful || Garnier Summer Body Moisturising Lotion

To save you all from the long introduction about how much I love tanning and tanning products, I'm just going to put it out there and confess that I'm a tanoholic! Last year I started a mini series on my blog called 'Bronze Me Beautiful'. This series as you can guess is all about my love for tanning products and to give you a little insight on my top tanning tips. Now is the time of year where tanning starts becoming a priority again and I thought I would continue the series this year as I still have so much tan talk to talk about!

I'm going to kick start my first tanning post this year with a new discovery that I made recently, although this is not a new product on the tanning market. When it comes to fake tanning, I love using gradual tanning moisturisers; They are generally faff free and after a few applications give you a lovely sun-kissed look. My current favourite gradual tanning moisturisers have always been the Palmer's Cocoa Butter Natural Bronze and the Dove Summer Glow which you can read about in my full review here. As much as I love these two products I was keen to try the Garnier Summer Body Moisturising Lotion as I've been a fan of other moisurisers by Garnier recently. The Summer Body Moisturising Lotion makes for a great gradual tanner for three main reasons.

One
The Summer Body moisturiser builds up a lovely looking and natural tan, that in no way looks orange or dirty.

Two
Not only does this gradual tanner make a great moisturiser that hydrates and nourishes your skin, but is also absorbs into your skin so quickly making drying time a matter of minutes not hours.

Three
As far as any self tanner goes, this one smells amazing. When its first applied it smells of fruity apricots and a few hours later once it starts developing your still left with an apricot kind of smell, which is pleasant.

As far as colour goes, this gradual tanner doesn't make me look quite as sun-kissed as I would like and when it comes to tanning products I usually opt for the darkest shades on offer. However I was a right wally when picking up this bottle of the Summer Body Moistursing Lotion as I picked up the one that was for a 'light' sun-kissed look and since then have realised that Garnier do offer a darker one which would have been perfect for me. But my little mistake means that I can report back and say that this shade would be perfect for those of you who are new to tanning or have fair skin. It takes a few applications to see any real difference in colour and the changes that you do see are subtle and not too over the top.

Overall I'm really impressed with this gradual tanner and although its in a lighter shade, its doing the job wonderfully. I would love to know what your thoughts are on this product? And if you've used the darker shade, please let me know how you got on with it?

Lots of Love

A Week In Pictures | Instagram

Hi babes. Two weeks ago I posted up a post on how I was addicted to Instagram and since that post I've managed to get another one up and tonight's will be the third. I had no intention whatsoever to make this into a weekly feature (and I'm still not sure if I'm going to yet) but I thought I would just do an Instagram post again this evening. I did have a review lined up on a new NYX masacra that I had recently bought, but I took the photographs earlier and after uploading them to my laptop they are shocklingly bad (only the best for you guys). So the mascara post will just have to have to be put on hold for now and I really hope that you girls will enjoy my Instagram pictures instead.
