My Best Beauty Finds of 2017

One of my favourite things ever is discovering new makeup and trying new looks out. Every year I always add to my collection (even though I'm on constant spending bans) and I love taking a moment to reflect on the new discoveries I've made and share them with you all. One of the perks of being a blogger is being sent new things to try and I felt incredibly lucky last year with the things that I was gifted. I also managed to treat myself to a few things that had been on my wish list for sometime. So if you're looking to get a little inspired with your makeup collection this year, have a little read on...

Becca Highlighter in Champagne Pop;
2017 for me was the year that I discovered this highlighter, I actually got it for Christmas 2016 and have pretty much been wearing it everyday since. I love the champagne golden glow this highlight gives, it really makes my cheekbones glow and makes my whole complexion look radiant. I love to use this in the inner corners of my eyes and underneath my brow bone for that extra pop.

NARS Laguna Bronzer;
This is not a new discovery, but a rediscovery for me. I first bought this cult beauty favourite way back when I first started blogging and never made a repurchase. I decided to pick one up last year and its one of the best beauty deciosns I've ever made. I love the formula of this bronzer and find the shade works perfectly for my skin tone. In the summer its perfect for that all over bronzed look, but I also love using it to contour as its not too muddy and its really easy to blend.

Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette;
When I think about new makeup that was released last year, the Urban Decay Naked Heat palette has to be the most talked and hyped about product and all for good reason - It's amazing. I've been obsessed with this eyeshadow palette and I think I'll be reaching for it just as much in 2018. I love the brick reds, burnt oranges and fiery shimmers in this palette; They're so pigmented and I love how you can create the best eye makeup looks with this palette.

Urban Decay Troublemaker Mascara;
Another new release from Urban Decay last year was the new Troublemaker Mascara. As soon as I saw the packaging of this mascara, I was in love - It's so beautiful! I also love how this mascara makes my lashes look. I love something that adds plenty of volume to my lashes and this mascara does just that. I also love how long wearing it is and it doesn't crumble or flake as the day goes on. I love it so much, that I'm already on my second tube.

GOSH Banana Powder;
I loved this little beauty throughout 2017 and as far as banana powders go, this is one of the best ones I've tried. I've always suffered with oily skin and this loose powder just helps my skin looking less shiny and stops my makeup from slipping and sliding around my face all day. I also love using this under my eye area as the yellow really helps to brighten up my eyes.

Girls With Attitude Flamingal Brushes;
Girls With Attitude is one my all time favourite brands, mainly because they bring out the most stunning sets of makeup brushes that I've ever seen. GWA had a few releases of makeup brushes last year, but my favourite and most used have to be the Flamingal Brushes. Not only do these makeup brushes apply my makeup like a dream, but I adore their pink design too.

Benefit Galifornia Blusher;
When it comes to blush, Benefit have always been my faves - I've been obsessed with their boxed blushers for a good few years. Last year they released their Galifornia blush and it's so beautiful and was my most used blusher last year. This blush is the most stunning coral/pink shade and I love the instant warmth it gives my cheeks. This is definitely an essential one for me for the summer months.

Primark Nails;
If you've been following me over on Instagram (find me here) you will have seen that I have been obsessed with the false nails that Primark have to offer. Seriously they are so pretty and only cost a few pounds, which is a much cheaper alternative to getting my nails professionally done. I've gotten so many compliments on my nails since I started wearing them and with a good nail glue, they can last me nearly two weeks before they start popping off. Primark nails are definitely some of the best out there and I can't wait to see what new designs they bring out this year.

The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5;
It feels like everyone was talking about Deciem and The Ordinary last year. I had a new House of Fraser open near me and I was thrilled to see they had a whole contour dedicated to The Ordinary. I had to pick up a few recommend products to see what all the fuss and hype was about and fell in love with the Hyaluronic Acid, I love it so much that I'm currently working my way through my second bottle. I love how this keeps my skin feeling hydrated and I'm convinced that its that magic ingredient in my skincare routine that's helping my skin keeping its youthful looks (maybe thats just good genes? lol).

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour All Over Miracle Oil;
I couldn't do this post and not include a product from my favourite skincare brand Elizabeth Arden. For a few years now I loved the Eight Hour Cream, its my favourite moisturiser... Ever! But last year I discovered the Eight Hour All Over Miracle Oil which I'm loving just as much. I use this fast absorbing oil in my night time skincare routine as I love the way it makes my feel skin feel and it really helps to keep it hydrated without making it look greasy. I also love using this oil on the ends of my hair when it's feeling a little dry and it works wonders.

So there we have it, my top beauty discoveries for 2017. I've linked each product for you, so if you fancy adding to your collection this year, you know exactly where to shop. I would love to know what your favourite beauty finds are, let me know in the comments.

  1. Nice selection! I can't wait to try The Ordinary now that they've made it to Sephora US. I still have quite a bit of skincare products to go through but they're next on my list to purchase!
