Superdrug Solait Dry Tanning Oil & Tanning Mist | My New Fave Fake Tans

Superdrug Solait Dry Tanning Oil & Tanning Mist

My addiction to fake tan is quite a serious thing, I'm obsessed with it and I hate being pale anytime of year. I know a tan obsession may make you think that I go way over the top, but I promise you I don't go for the tangoed orange look lol. I think I get my tanning addiction from my mum and she let me use her fake tan when I was 15, since then I like my skin to look a few shades darker and I always go for a natural sun kissed glow, unless its in the height of summer then sometimes I'll go for the 'I've been abroad sunbathing for two weeks' kind of tan. I think its fair to say that I've tired and tested my fair share of fake tans and theres a couple out there that I will purchase time and time again; St Moriz I'm looking at you! However over the last few months a new tan on the market has become a new front runner and I'm obsessed with it. If you're addicted to Love Island as much as I am then you will have seen these tans advertised all the time before the show and start of the adverts, because these tans are from Superdrugs own range and they are AMAZING!

Makeup Revolution Affirmation Palette || Every Day Eyes

Makeup Revolution Affirmation Palette - Eyeshadow, Makeup, Everyday Palette
Makeup Revolution Affirmation Palette - Eyeshadow, Makeup, Everyday Palette

I don't know about you but I am just loving the new launches from Makeup Revolution at the moment, it seems that week after week they have something new and exciting to offer us makeup obsessors and their new launch is no exception. As you know I love an eyeshadow palette and Makeup Revolution have now brought us the new Affirmation palette which contains 32 highly pigmented eyeshadows. Incase the pictures haven't already won you over, let me tell you how amazing this palette really is and why you need to add it to your makeup collection.

The first thing that appeals to me about this palette has to be the colours on offer. As some of you may know by now that when it comes to eyeshadow I'm a neutrals girl at heart and its these soft beiges, champagne pinks and mattifying browns that I tend to use for my everyday makeup and every single shade in this palette could be used to create that perfect everyday makeup look.

I really love how this palette has the perfect mix of different finishes so the different looks that you could create are endless. I'm someone who tends to gravitate towards matte finishes and the Affirmation palette has so many to choose from, including some perfect light beiges for using as a highlight to some lovely rich dark browns which I love using in my crease.

I just love how many wearable shades this palette has to offer, it really does have everything I need, especially as its now summer,  I love wearing a bronzed smokey eye and the palette has so many copper and bronze shades to choose from. I also love how the Affirmation offers so much versatility as theres plenty of cool toned silvers and greys in there too. Think of a combination of all three naked palettes combined into one... Talk about my dream palette!

Like with all the other Makeup Revolution palettes that I've tried the pigmentation of these shadows are fab, although some of the lighter shades do take a little longer to build up to get the exact shade that you see in the palette. The matte shades are really soft, pigmented and blend beautifully, whilst the metallic shadows really add some dimension to your overall makeup look.

I just love this palette and everything about it. I was feeling a little stuck about what  eyeshadows to take away with me on holiday next week, but taking this is definitely a no brainer as it has everything that I need. Not only does that palette have 32 shades, but the packaging is sleek, not bulky and contains a huge mirror which is just what I need for travelling.

Overall I love this palette, in the short space of time its become a new favourite. If you would like to add the Affirmation palette to your collection you can pick it up from the Makeup Revolution website for only £8.00, such a bargain!

Bronze Me Beautiful || Rimmel Instant Tan

Hi ladies today I wanted to bring you the second post in my little 'Bronze Me Beautiful' series. For those of you who are new here to Miss Sunshine & Sparkle... I am a little obsessed when it comes to self tanners and having been a huge addict for many years. So much so that I thought it was only fair I share with you lovely lot, what I think is the best of the bunch. Last time I spoke about my trusty and most favourite gradual tanning moisturisers and if you would like to have a little look at that post you can find the link right here. But today I want to share my thoughts on Rimmel's Instant Tan Sun Shimmer Tan...

Now I will be honest when it comes to tanning I'm pretty good and make sure that prepare well in advance to be beautifully bronzed for any occasion (who am I kidding, I apply fake tan once or twice a week, told you I was obsessed  either way I'm not really an instant put on your tan and wash off later kinda girl. But you can guarantee there will always be a moment in your life where you need a quick tanning fix - I'm sure we have all been there and have been asked to go party all night spare of the moment kind of thing which and these occasions are always impossible to prepare for. It's times like these where I reach for and say hello to my little bottle of Rimmel's Instant Tan. It gives you a gorgeous glow within minutes and can be washed off easily the next day.

The Rimmel Sun Shimmer Tan comes in a few different shades to suit everyone's tanning needs, but usually I opt for the dark shimmer one. For those of you who don't want a deep dark tan Rimmel also offer medium and lighter shades. As you would guess by the name of my blog, I love products that offer a touch of sparkle and the instant tan that I'm reviewing today has loads of shimmer packed into it - again Rimmel also offer a matte finish instant tan for those of you who are wanting something a little more toned down.

As far as tan goes, the Rimmel Instant tan does look really dark and can be a little frightening when you initially squeeze it out of the bottle, but I have to say it blends beautifully into your skin and gives you a lovely natural bronze finish - minus the shimmer! You only need a little bit of product for each section of your body and as long as you use a trusty tanning mitt to buff it into your skin then you shall be left with a gorgeous summer glow. I think with this tan it's really important to start off with a little bit of product at a time. When I used this for the first time I popped a little too much product onto my skin and buffing it was a bit of a nightmare and the end result looked a little streaky. However if you start off small and build your tan up the coverage and finish is lovely and natural looking - It also does a fabulous job at hiding any imperfections or redness on areas that you may have on your skin. I also find applying this tan in small circular motions gives you the most even looking tan when using this product - When ever I apply this I always hear my cheer coaches voice in my head 'pretend your waxing a car Dannie' because like I said I had a bit of a tanning disaster when first applying this product, but now I know the correct way to apply it I absolutely love this product as a quick fix tan.

Another thing about this instant tanner is that the product dries really quickly, which is great as you don't have to wait around ages for it to dry - but it does mean you need to work quickly. You can apply this, get dressed and be out the front door in an instant. When it comes to tanning I do like to be quite dark, but not orange and this tan has a lot of green undertones to it which prevents you from looking like an ompalumpa and gives you a pretty natural looking glow. The dark version of this tan is quite dark so if you do have fair skin or are new to tanning I would definitely suggest you try one of Rimmel's lighter shades. As for the shimmer in this product, it's pretty subtle and not too over the top. I find it's more of a shimmer that reflects when your in direct sunlight, but as soon as your out of the light I find that the bits of shimmer just make your skin look really healthy which is another reason why I love using the shimmer version.

The only downside I have with this product, which is to be completely expected as its a wash off tan, is that it's not waterproof. If your planning on wearing this on a night out and you may well be around people who are prone to spilling their drinks on your legs then you will want to do your best to stay clear because as soon as any considerable amount liquid comes into contact with your skin you will find it will make your tan run. If it happens to be raining this instant tan is definitely a NO GO! And if you do have white bed sheets then you may also want to wash this off before returning to your bed as the colour will most likely transfer, especially if your quite hot. But apart from this I find that this tan is pretty stubborn, wont budge and will stay on all night long. Rimmel do offer a water resistant version of this tan though, which I've not yet tried but I'm really curious as to how well it works - I think that will be next on my list of tans to try and test!

Another little perk about this tan has to be that it is not way drying on your skin, infact I find it to be quite moisturising, however I always like to make sure that my skin is moisturised before applying this instant tanner just so the application goes on smoothly. The smell of this tan is also amazing as it smells like a perfume - I'm terrible at describing scents, but I find this one to be really pleasant and it reminds of summer. In no way at all does it smell like your usual fake tan.

Overall I really love this instant fake tan, applying it (once you get the hang of it) is so easy, iy takes minutes to apply and the finish is just gorgeous. This is perfect for a quick fix or if your just wanting to be tanned for a day. As soon as your in the shower, it's all washed away and your left with no evidence that you had previously tanned. I also love the price of this tan, it retails at Boots for £5.99 but you can pick this up in so many places like Tesco and Asda, and I'm forever seeing it on offer. I don't use this all the time as I do prefer having a more permanent tan, but it's great to have it there sat on my beauty shelves in case I ever need it. It's definitely a party girls essential beauty item.

Have you tried this tan before? What are your thoughts?

Bourjois BB Bronzing Cream 8 in 1 || Review

When it comes to BB Creams I can honestly say I've never been a fan and have always been slightly confused with the hype around them. I tried my very best to get along with a few and they just did nothing for me, caused my makeup to slide off my face within a few hours and they certainly didn't even out my skin tone. It wasn't long before I gave up and stopped wasting my money on makeup that was just going to sit there on my beauty counter and collect dust. I never thought I would purchase another BB Cream until I spotted this 8 in 1 Bronzing BB Cream from Bourjois and they beauty blogger in me just had to pop this straight into my basket! The fact that that this BB cream has a bronze tint to it really appealed to me as  bronzing products are a favourite of mine. I swatched the tester bottle in Boots right away and I have to say on first impressions I was pretty impressed which is why I took it home with me.

Not only was I impressed with the actual Bronzing BB Cream itself, the packaging also made quite a few claims, which makes sense seeing as its an 8 in 1 cream. With so many claims I was really interested to see if this BB Cream from Bourjois really would live up to all its claims.

When it comes to evening out your skin tone, this BB cream does an amazing job and I was really impressed at how flawless my skin looked afterwards. I'm positive that this is down to the bronzing tint that you get with this BB cream as I've never found one to do this as of yet. By no means does it give you full coverage, but it will take away any redness giving you a nice even complexion.

I absoltley love the sheer tint of bronze that you get with this BB cream and seeing how dark it looks in the bottle it in no way appears too dark on your skin - I think that this would even work well with those of you who do have fair skin. However I find that it does take some work to buff this BB cream into your skin. The more that you blend it, the lighter the cream seams to become and end result is a lovely summer glow to your skin.

Again I completley agree with this claim, the Bourjois BB Bronzing cream really does give your skin a little pick me up and does a great job at adding a touch of radiance to your skin. After application, it looks as though you've treated yourself to a little bit of sunshine. The finish is quite a dewy one which helps make your skin look fresh and natural at the same time.

I really don't know how I feel about this claim on the bottle as when I wear this on its own without any foundation over the top, I find that the actual product doesn't have the greatest amount of wear time. My skin does feel hydrated once its applied and continues to feel this way, however I feel that this cream is a little too moisturising and those of you who have oily to combination skin my find this product sliding off your face midday which is a right pain in the bum - Hello powder! When wearing this on it's own I can deal with the odd sliding around midday, but I wouldn't dream of adding a foundation or any other heavy products over the top of this BB cream as I think you'll find yourself in a slippery slidey makeup mess! If you have dry skin though, you probably wont have this problem at all and will love this creams moisturising benefits.

When it comes to soothing skin, this BB cream definitely has a cooling effect when you apply it and when applied it can feel a little wet on your skin. This wet feeling doesn't last too long, but it does take some time to dry - Just like when applying a moisturiser you have to wait a little before you can add more product on to your skin. This wet feeling does create a lovely soothing effect on your skin though, as its very cooling and makes applying this BB cream very pleasant.

Out of all the claims written on this bottle, this is the one that slightly baffles me as I really don't understand how this BB cream works wonders at prolonging your tan. When I read this I was under the impression that this BB cream would do well at prolonging a natural tan but as the bronzing tint in the BB cream is not permanent and washes off easily, I don't understand at all how it works at prolonging your tan. Whenever I've used this and washed my face at the end of the day, I find that my skin is the exact same shade as I started off with in the morning. Even when I've used a false tanner on my face, I find that it doesn't make the fake tan last any longer. I think due to the bronzing tint in this cream, it just does a great job at enhancing any kind of tan you have whilst your wearing the product.

There's not much that I can add to this claim, other than what a big fat bonus that it contains SPF 15. I'm really terrible when it comes to protecting my skin from the sun - Not so much when I'm on holiday, but when I'm at home I never think to apply any kind of product that contains SPF. I suppose I convince myself that I don't really need it as I never see much sun, but I know those harmful rays can still reach you though the clouds and all so wearing this makes me feel quite pleased with myself that I'm doing a little bit more to protect my skin.
I think this refreshing sensation goes along side with the cooling feeling you get when applying this, which I mentioned earlier. However the scent of this BB cream is just amazing and I think it adds to the refeshingness of it all. If your a fan of the Bourjois bronzing range you will know that a lot of their products have that yummy chocolate smell to them and this BB cream definitely has that familiar smell that all us beauty bloggers know and love... It's LUSH!

Overall I've been really impressed with this BB cream, and although I've not tried many BB creams to compare it too, it has by far been the best one that I've tried. Yes I am a little disappointed that it tends to slide off my face after a couple of hours in, but I only reach for a BB cream on certain days or for certain actives I'm doing that day. For example, on those lazy Sunday's where I'm not planning on wearing much makeup this is perfect for me to just pop on. It gives me enough coverage that I'm looking for and if I'm just lazing around the house and happen to catch a glimpse of myself in the mirror (which is often) then it's nice to be looking fresh faced and have a touch of radiance to my nearly naked skin. I also love using this for those mornings that I take a trip down to the gym. I absolutely hate walking out the house without any makeup on whatsoever, but I really don't see the point in slapping on foundation and other lotions and potions to sweat it all off again doing a workout. However I will apply this BB cream and a little powder just so I don't have that 'I've just gotten out of bed look' when walking though the front doors, and for that reason its been a little lifesaver. I actually look quite awake when I've popped this on.

I don't think I can go as far to say I've been converted and am now a total BB Cream kinda girl, this one from Bourjois hasn't done that. But it has given me use out of a BB cream which is a first for me and although I don't reach for this all the time, I can definitely see myself making a repurchase once this runs out.

Have you tried this Bronzing BB Cream? What BB Creams can you recommend? I would love to know!

Lots of Love
