When it comes to makeup on the high street, hands down Bourjois are one of my all time favourites. I love everything about the brand, to the fun vibrant packing and of course the amazing makeup products. Their new releases always impress me and some of my holy grail makeup times are from Bourjois (Chocolate Bronzer I'm looking right at you).

As a lot of you know by now, I am pregnant and unfortunately I don't seem to have that gorgeous pregnant glow that a lot of other woman expecting sometimes have. I have no idea as to why as I drink so much water! What I do know though was that my foundation had to be changed and my base makeup needed some serious re-thinking. Not wanting to splash out on something that I wasn't too sure would work for my skin, I turned to Bourjois to find something that would brighten up my dull skin and give it a bit of a fresh glow.

I decided to pick up two Bourjois foundations to see how they would work and I'm typing up this post today because I'm pleased to report back that I'm completely in love with my new purchases and if your skin is like mine and in the need of a bit of a pick me up, then these are my two recommendations.

Bourjois, Bourjois Foundation, Bourjois City Radiance, Bourjois Healthy Serum Foundation, Foundation, Dewy Skin,

I'm pretty sure the first foundation that I picked up is a new release from Bourjois as I had never seen it before. It's the City Radiance Skin Protecting Foundation. This instantly appealed to me as the packaging is really similar to BB and CC creams and I just love those. The thing that got me really excited about this foundation is that from the packaging it claims to give your skin a brightening effect, which is just what my skin needs right now. I have to say I was pretty impressed when I first tried this foundation, it was everything I expected and more.

As soon as I applied the City Glow I noticed that it really did give my skin an instant glow that it so desperately needed. This foundation really does give you a really nice dewy finish which helps to create that radiance. Like you would expect with this foundation, it's not heavy duty or full coverage, but there is enough product there to hide small imperfections. This is definitely a foundation I'd feel more comfortable wearing on a good skin day. Although this a light foundation I did find that it took a little work to blend into my skin and can look a little 'wet' once first applied. However once the air gets to the foundation, the finished look is so natural and I found myself left with really glowy and healthy skin, which is just what I wanted. The City Glow also contains SPF 30, radiance boosting pigments and an anti-pollution screen which are all great as I feel that its also protecting my skin as well as making it look brighter.

Bourjois, Bourjois Foundation, Bourjois City Radiance, Bourjois Healthy Serum Foundation, Foundation, Dewy Skin,

The other foundation that I picked up from Bourjois was the Healthy Mix Serum, which I have actually tried and reviewed before (here). A few years back it was my go to summer foundation and for some reason I've not made a repurchase till now. I just remembered how much I loved this foundation because of the gorgeous natural glow it gave my skin. This foundation is incredibly light weight and has more of a gel feel to it. I find that it blends so easily into my skin and just makes it look that little brighter and healthier. My skin has been looking so tried recently and I've found that this foundation gives my skin a more of an awake look which is perfect for those early morning starts.

Before pregnancy I had really oily skin (which I've now had a complete turn around and suffer with dry skin). If I still had oily skin I don't think I would have loved these foundations as much just as they could probably slide off my skin by the end of the day. I know I needed a lot of powder touch ups when I used the Healthy Mix Serum a few years back, although it did and still does make my skin look amazing.

For those days where I'm wanting a little more coverage, I've actually mixed these two foundations together and I have to say the results are amazing! Think medium coverage foundation, skin that glows and looks awake. I will definitely be keeping these two foundations in my makeup bag and I have a feeling I'll be making a repurchase of them as soon as I've ran out!

Let me know what your favourite foundations are for bright healthy skin? Have you tried the new Bourjois City Glow yet? Let me know in the comments.

Lots of Love
