Can you remember the days before brows become important? I do and I look through my old pictures and think oh my gosh unruly, undefined brows just looks hideous! It wasn't until I started blogging that I started to play around with brow products and needless to say I've never looked back. Luckily for me I don't think I'm the only one who has a bad past with their eyebrows. I think now we all strive to have perfect arches; I don't know about anyone else, but I always get major brow envy, especially when I browse makeup looks on Pinterest. Unfortunately for me I don't have naturally good brows and I really need all the help I can get. But hey thats what good brow products are for.

Recently I've been experimenting with a new brow product that I've actually fallen in love with. This is by no means a new brow product on the market, its just a newbie for my collection. The brow product that I'm loving right now is the Tame and Frame Tinted Brow Pomade from NYX. Before using this I was forever filling my brows in with powder, Benefits Brow Zings being my personal favourite. However this brow pomade is like nothing I've ever used before and I love it.

I was initially drawn to this because I thought it would be very similar to the ABH Dip Brow which I've been dying to try, everyone seems to love it. However I was put off by its price tag, especially if I didn't know if it would work for me, so I thought the Tame and Frame would be a great alternative. I can tell you right now, I am already obsessed.

So what makes this brow pomade so great? I love it so much as I find the application so easy, precise and it gives me really defined and perfected brows. The pomade has a slight waxy feel to it, is soft in texture and is really workable. Although it feels quite creamy, I find the product dries pretty quickly once its on my brows and it tames them beautifully. I just find this pomade gives my brows a more professional look than when using a powder and I really love the effect that it gives.

I bought the shade expresso, its probably a little too dark for my liking and I could have really gone for a lighter shade, but as I ordered this online it was hard to tell. My eyebrows are naturally quite dark anyway so I can make this work for me. NYX do claim that this brow pomade is waterproof and whilst I haven't tested this out yet, I can say that there have been a few occasions where I have slept with my makeup on (so bad I know) and my brows have kept in place, so it is long lasting. If it is as waterproof as it claims then this would be perfect to use for any holidays, the ones where you know you'll be taking frequent dips into the pool or the sea.

Now I've tried this I will definitely be picking up the ABH Dip Brow as I'm really loving this type of formula, its a winner for me. If you're wanting to try a brow pomade and don't want to payout for anything too pricey, then I would say give this ago. It's really working for me and it's a great addition to my makeup bag.

Whats your secret to perfect brows? Are you a fan of brow pomades?

  1. I might give this a purchase when I run out of my ABH dipbrow, as it dries out quite fast and it would be nice to buy something a bit more affordable x

  2. I tried this one and didn't absolutely love it. I prefer the Milani StayPut brow in terms of drugstore pomades xx

  4. I completely agree with you, I've looked back at photos and cringed at my brows. Over plucking was something I must have suffered with! Great post :)
