Don't you just love it when payday comes around and you can finally hit the checkout button on those bits you've had in your basket for best part of the month! That happened to me last Friday, my pay check went in and I went on a much needed spending spree. I know you guys love beauty just as much as I do, thats why you're here after all right? So I know you will appreciate a good old Boots haul. I got a little bit carried away as you do when shopping online, so I thought I would share with you the bits that I picked up. Theres a good mixture of beauty products in this haul, so get comfy and enjoy...
Chanel Soleil Tan De Chanel
Out of all the things that I picked up, this is the item that I most excited about, it's the Chanel Soleil Tan De Chanel. This has been one of those beauty products thats been on my wishlist forever. This was hitting the rounds on YouTube even before I started blogging and I've pretty much wanted it since then. Seeing as I've now been blogging for over four years, its taken me quite some time to actually get my hands on it. The best thing about this purchase is that I used my Boots points to pay for it. Don't you just love it when you save enough points to treat yourself to something nice. For those of you who don't know what the Soleil Tan De Chanel is, its a bronzing illuminator that can be used underneath your foundation as a base or over the top for an all over bronzed look; I've also heard that its great for contouring too. I'm so excited about trying this product out as its one of those cult beauty items. I'll have to let you know how I get on, so be sure for a full review of this coming up in the near future.
Revlon Colorstay Foundation
Sticking with base products, I also picked up another bottle of my favourite high street foundation. I've gone through so many bottles of the Revlon Coloursay as I find that its one of the only foundations that last on my skin all day. I would definitely say that this foundation is full coverage and its great if you have combination skin. During the summer months I always go for the shade True Beige as I find it works really well with most tans, and lets face it the summer months are all about the tan!
It's been ages since I've tried any cosmetics from Soap & Glory, theyre always my go to brand for skincare, scrubs and moisturises, but I always forget that they have a fantastic makeup range too. I didn't realise just how many products have been added to their line since my last S&G makeup purchase. Boots have 3 for 2 across all the S&G makeup range, so it would be rude not to take advantage of such a good offer, right? One thing that really stood out to me was their Kick Ass Fake Awake concealer which specifically targets dark circles. Right now I need all the help I can get with these type of bags and I'm hoping that this is the product for the job. It comes it quite a chunky tube and looks really brightening, so I have high hopes for this.
Soap & Glory Archery Volu-Boost Brow Fibre Gel
I'm really hoping this S&G Brow Fibre Gel is going to be a good dupe for Benefits Gimmie Brow. Honestly I really love Gimme Brow, I'm just not a fan of its price tag, so I'm desperately trying to find a just as good, but cheaper alternative. I've not tried this yet, but I'm hoping its going to make my sparse brows look a lot thicker and fuller. I really struggle with sparse brows towards the inner brow, I think it was a case of serious over plucking when I was a teen; so as long as this product can help me there I'll be more than happy.
Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Pillow Plump Lip Gloss.
Oh hello to my brand new Sexy Mother Pucker. This lipgloss actually makes me feel a little nostalgic because right when I first started working back when I was in my late teens, I remember reading about the release of the first Sexy Mother Pucker lipgloss in an issue of Elle and as soon as I got my weekly pay, I headed down to Boots and picked one up. For a good few years I was obsessed with this lip gloss. I know Soap and Glory have brought out so many different variations of it now, including this Pillow Plump one and I have to say I'm so excited to use this. I put this on my lips the other day and I can't believe I forgot just how intense that tingly sensation on your lips it - I love it. This lip gloss is really beautiful, I picked up the shade Nude In Town, as a nude lip is my go to shade, so I thought this would look amazing over my regular everyday lipsticks.
NYX Lip Lingerie Embellishment
I don't think any Boots haul would be complete with out a lipstick thrown in there! If you saw my last beauty haul (here) I picked up three of the NYX Lip Lingeries, but I really wanted the shade Embellishment, but it seemed that it was constantly out of stock. Well, not anymore... YAY. I think I've just been so drawn to this shade of nude and I know I have nothing like it in my collection. I would say this nude is more of a dusty lavender kind of shade and its just another great take on an everyday nude lip. I'm pretty sure that I have all of the colours that I want from the Lip Lingerie collection now, so I'm planning on getting a post up with swatches of the ones I do have so look out for that.
NYX Liquid Suede Soft Spoken
Ok, please don't judge me! I always get carried away and I really don't need anymore lipstick, its just my guilty pleasure ok lol. In all seriousness I've not actually tried any of the NYX Suede lipsticks and I really wanted to see how they would compare to the Lip Lingeries. Soft Spoken is more of a brown toned nude and it looks so gorgeous. I know that this kind of nude shade I'm really comfortable wearing for everyday, so I will be getting a lot of use out of this. Keep your eyes pealed for a full review as I have a feeling its going to be a good one.
NYX Face & Body Glitter Teal and Ice & NYX Glitter Primer
So this is a little bit of a different kind of purchase for me. As much as I love glitter and sparkly things, I definitely don't plan on wearing it everyday. However this weekend is Brighton Pride and if your a regular follower you may know that I do cheerleading for a local gay club and my cheer squad take part in the parade every year. Our cheer makeup means that I can really go all out and this year I plan on adding a bit a lot of sparkle. I had no idea NYX even did face and body glitter, these just appeared on the recommended side bar. After a quick browse, two of them quickly ended up in my basket. I chose the shades Teal and Ice and they are so stunning and are really finely milled which is just perfect for your face; I would hate to wear anything that felt too chunky. One problem that I've had in the past with glitter is actually getting it to stay put. No matter what I used, it would be gone in a few hours and end up on some other part of my face where glitter definitely wasn't supposed to be. So I picked up the NYX glitter primer. I tested this out on the back of my hand andI was amazed at how well it held the glitter down. I guess the real test will be next weekend, I'll have to get back to you and let you know how long it lasts.
I also picked up a few skincare bits, for some reason I forgot to take close up pictures of them! Total blogging fail. My skin was in desperate need of a good scrub (I know that makes me sounds as though I'm dirty lol, I promise you I'm not) I've had so many layers of fake tan on that my skin has gone really patchy... eww! So I picked the Soap & Glory Breakfast scrub, which is my favourite as it smells just like maple syrup. I also picked up another bottle of the La Roche Posay Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel which is my current favourite cleanser.
So thats everything in my haul, if you made it this far yay, I know its a really long post. I love reading reading other peoples beauty buys though. It's almost like sharing a shopping trip with your girls, don't you think?
Let me know what you've been buying recently and if there is anything here that you want to see in more detail let me know?
You picked up some amazing products. I've been wanting the NYX lingerie for so long but unfortunately my local boots doesn't stock up on them~ I guess I have to order them online :)
