My Five Favourite Nudes for Autumn/Winter

My Five Favourite Nudes for Autumn/Winter

It's been a long time since I typed up a lipstick post, which is quite shocking for me as lipstick is easily my favourite makeup product. I think its because I have a lot less time to do my makeup now I have Archie and I always reach for an easy trusty nude that I know will work with every look. I have  a few nude lipsticks that I've been reaching for non stop over the last few weeks and I think they are  perfect for the season, so I thought I would share with you all my top five favourite, because I know you guys love a nude just as much as me.

Blogmas Day 13 - My Favourite Festive Red Lipsticks

L-R Rimmel Kate Moss, Makeup Revolution Still Missing My Baby, Bourjois Grand Cru, Smashbox Be Legendary Lip Gloss, Makeup Revolution Lip Lava Firestrom, Mac Rihanna Pleasure Bomb

I’m pretty sure that I say this every year, but one thing that I get really excited about is changing up my lip colour to the change of the seasons. As it’s the month of Christmas and all things festive there is only one colour that I want to be wearing and that is red! If truth be told I’ve been wearing berry red lipsticks since October (but thats just because I’m a woman obsessed!). I just don't think any look is complete with out a festive pout that just screams have yourself a very merry Christmas! So today I thought I’d showcase my favourite red lips.

Kate Moss 107 Rimmel London.
Myself and every other beauty blogger must have mentioned this lipstick about a thousand times on our blogs, but rightly so as the Kate Moss 107 lipstick has just become such a classic. Out of all the red lipsticks that I own, this one from Rimmel is quite possibly my favourite and one that gets the most use and wear from me. It has everything you need and more in a red lipstick. First of all I love the deep berry shade that this lipstick gives; It’s dark but not gothic. Secondly its staying power is next to non and you can guarantee this survive most drinks and snacks - And thrirdly I love the formula; Matte finishes are always my favourite, I just love the effect it creates. I honestly think that this lipstick would suit everyone and if you’ve not added it to your collection yet I ask why? I’ve gone through about 3 by now!

Makeup Revolution Lip Hug - Still Missing My Baby

When I fancy wearing something a little darker, I often find myself reaching this Makeup Revolution lipstick in the shade 'Still Missing My Baby'. The actual shade reminds me a little bit of Mac’s Diva which I so desperately want to add to my lipstick collection. The shade of this lipstick is a deep berry red, although it’s dark, I think its really warm and makes my complexion feel really warm on those cold winter days. It has a lovely creamy satin finish too, so I opt for this lipstick on those days that my lips are feeling dry from the cold.

Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet - Grand Cru

A lipstick that I just fell in love with last year was the Boujois Rouge Edition Velvets and this year these velvet lipsticks have still been a favourite of mine. Towards Christmas last year Bourjois brought some new shades including Grand Cru which is just the most perfect winter berry red. I find that this lipstick has that almost vampy look to it, so I love wearing this in the evenings; I think it would be perfect to wear for all the Christmas do’s coming up. Not only does this look great on, but I also find it really long lasting. I think thats just the magic formula of these velvet textured lipsticks. They glide on and have a wet like finish and as soon as the air gets to them, try dry to a stain which will last for hours. I don’t know about anyone else, but I just love a lipstick that pretty much takes care of itself, especially with dark reds as these can sometimes be a messy nightmare.

Smashbox Be Legendary Lip Gloss - True Red

Sometimes on the odd occasion I like to ditch the lipstick and just go for something a little bit softer and more subtle. I’m not the biggest fan of lip glosses, but sometimes I do like to add a shine to my pout and I just love this red one from Smashbox. Although it looks very red in the tube, its not as dramatic once on your lips. I find that it just gives my lips a lovely warm wash of colour without them being too over the top. I love the formula of these Smashbox Lip Glosses, they're not sticky and are really comfortable to wear. Sometimes I like to go all out and add this lip gloss over some of my more daring reds, which is such a Christmas winner!

Makeup Revolution Lip Lava - Firestorm

When it comes to makeup I just love a good dupe and the Lip Lava’s from Makeup Revolution are an amazing dupe for the Too Faced Melted Lipsticks; Not only are they similar in their super glossy formula but also very similar in terms of colour. I think this red Lip Lava is the perfect Christmas red; It’s such a warm, vibrant and fun colour and so far I’ve gotten a lot of good use out of it. To me its that classic Santa Clause red which makes it so perfect and fitting for Christmas. With this shade of red I think the more glossy it is the better and this lip lacquer is super glossy. What I really love though is that after the gloss has faded it leaves your lips beautifully stained; So much so that I actually struggle to get this colour of my lips at the end of the day!

Mac Rhianna Pleasure Bomb

Ok so I’ve cheated a little bit here because this next lipstick breaks the rules a little bit. For a start it’s limited edition so I feel really bad showcasing it off as I know you guys wont be able to get hold of it and secondly its not really a red, but more of a cherry pink. I just had to add this in my Christmas lipstick favourites because I just love this lipstick so much and I only wear it this time of year. I think the colour is just so pretty and really looks beautiful on. I actually think it looks a lot darker on that what it shows up on camera and in real life. This lipstick is just a beautiful pinky red and its matte formula makes this lipstick really bold and striking on. Not to mention its super long lasting. It really is one of my all time favourite lipsticks and not just because it has the prettiest packaging ever! Please can Mac decorate all their lipsticks in white and rose gold casing?

For the longest of time, no exaggeration here I promise you! I have wanted to get my little beauty mitts on some Lime Crime lip products and guys that moment has finally happened. From the minute I saw my favourite beauty gurus wearing lip products that came wrapped up in gorgeous packaging I was obsessed; I just knew they were going to be something that I loved whenever I got the actual chance to try them out.

Now if I had an endless amount of spending money then I probably would have bought everything there and then on the Lime Crime website. Unfortunately thats the kind of things dreams are made of and I had to limit myself to just two things when placing my order, I really can't afford to go wild now, especially with baby sparkle on its way. As matte lipsticks have to be my favourite kind of finish  I decided to pick up two of the Lime Crime Valentines in the shades Faded and Wicked. Faded is one of these really pretty nude shades, but it has a slight hint of purple running through it which makes it really different to any other nude shade I own. Wicked on the other hand is one of my favourite lipstick shades, it's a deep vampy red, making it perfect for this time of year. Both shades look amazing on.

First of all let me start with packaging. OMG these are just gorgeous, I really love the design of these liquid lipsticks; From the frosted clear tube to the metallic red lids with its pretty pink roses scattered across it, they're just super cute and really girly. It's the kind of packaging that make you feel really special applying these in public, if you know what I mean.

As for the actual product, again I'm in love. Like I said, I love lipsticks that have a matte finish so the Velvetines are right up my street. When I first apply them they actually feel really wet and glossy but within a matter of seconds the product dries out and turns into this gorgeous velvet matte finish which literally lasts all day; There're even food and drink proof which is perfect. The actual formula very much reminds me of the Boujois Rouge Edition Velvets (review here) so if you're a fan of those lipsticks then you'll love these too.

Now that these two Velvetines have become my go too lipsticks I really want to add some more to my collection. I was so tempted to pick up the shade Cashmere, which everyone seems to rave about but was worried it wouldn't suit me with its grey tones to it. But I've decided this has to be my next Lime Crime purchase.

Have you bought anything from Lime Crime? Let me know what I should add to my basket next time I go shopping on the Lime Crime website.

Come autumn time I am a sucker for a deep berry lip. I just love wearing these dark lip shades, everything from red to purple. I think it's the perfect way to complete any autumnal look. My collection started off with Kate Moss' 107 and over the years it has somewhat grown. This year I've added a few more dark autumn berry shades to my collection and with Halloween approaching I thought it would be so appropriate to showcase these three gorgeous lipsticks from Collection.

These three lipsticks are a part of Collection's Gothic Glam Collection, which I personally think are stunning. For some reason on camera they're appearing a little lighter than what they are true to life, but I promise you they are just as stunning. What I really love about these lipsticks is that they have a lovely satin finish to them whilst being highly pigmented at the same time. Usually I find dark shades like this have a matte finish and can be slightly drying on my lips. But these ones don't drag across the lips at all, and as they start to fade they leave behind a lovely dark stain.

The lightest of the three and the one that I wear the most is the lipstick shown on the left called 'Seduction'. Whenever I wear this I feel like Snow White, it reminds me of that poison apple red and looks great for this time of year. I find this really wearable and find that it's not too dark for work. The lipstick in the middle is ' Scorned' which is a vampy plum shade. Again this looks great on, but can look a little more gothic on. I love wearing 'Scorned' when I'm wearing something simple as it really adds that pop of colour to my face. On the right hand side is the lipstick 'Revenge' which looks amazing on, but I think for me it's a little too dark for me to wear at work (boo). I think this shade is really one of those striking sultry reds. If you were dressing up as a vampire for Halloween this year, then this is the shade you would want to be wearing on your lips, its perfect.

I just love these three lipsticks, the finish its stunning and they are really long wearing. It's great to have a few lipsticks which are a litter bit darker than my usual berry colours in my collection and I really enjoy wearing these three and at only £2.99 each you can't go wrong. Boots even have 3 for 2 on them right now (here), total bargain!

Do you love berry toned lipsticks? Let me know your favourites in the comments below...

Pretty In Pink - My Favourite Summer Nail Polishes & Matching Lipsticks

Nail Polish, Pink Nail Polish, Lipstick, Barry M, Nails Inc, MUA Lilac Nail Polish, Nail Girls Nail Polish, Sinful Colors, Pink

Call me a typical girly girl, but I just love when my nails and lipstick match. I don't know why but it satisfies me immensely and I just love the way the colours pair off beautifully. As summer is the season where I tend to wear non stop pink on my lips I thought today I would put together a few of my favourite pink nail polishes that are sure to match any pink lipstick in your collection.

Nail Polish, Pink Nail Polish, Lipstick, Barry M, Nails Inc, MUA Lilac Nail Polish, Nail Girls Nail Polish, Sinful Colors, Pink

MUA Lush Lilac

Starting with the lightest shade, this pastel nail polish from MUA is actually not a pink but a very muted lilac. I just love these kind of polishes that have a slight hint of colour but lean more towards a white shade. I think for summer anything that sort of resembles a white nail polish really enhances a tan and gives any manicure a really clean and polished look. I love wearing pink tinted lip glosses in the summer, so this polish pairs with them beautifully.

Nail Girls Colour

It really bugs me when a nail polish doesn't have a name and this one from Nail Girls is one of them, but the actual colour is gorgeous and its one my favourite type of pinks to wear. I would describe this colour as a bubblegum pink; It's soft, understated but girly at the same time. I wear a lot of lipsticks in this kind of colour, especially Mac's Chatterbox and Lovelorn and this shade compliments them both beautifully.

Nails Inc Gel Effect Polish - Covent Garden Place

When it comes to high shine nail polishes, the ones that create that gel effect are great. I'm a big fan of the Nails Inc Gel polishes as they are super shiny and give my nails that really polished professional manicure look. I think this shade is such a beautiful bright bold pink that is really fun to wear in the summer and its one of those pinks that looks killer with a tan. I wore this a lot when I was on holiday in Turkey and it just made me feel really sun kissed. I love matching this shade to Mac's Impassioned as it's a match made in heaven.

Barry M - Fuchsia

Everyone needs a really good fuchsia pink in their nail collection and one of my favourites has to be this one from Barry M. When it comes to nail polish Barry M are without a doubt my favourite brand.  I love wearing a deep fuchsia pink lipstick on a summers evening out so I often reach for this nail polish to complete my look.

Sinful Colours - 920

Now before your wonder and your mind gets carried away, I would just like to point out now that I do not own or wear any lipstick in this bright bold highlighter pink shade! However I adore this nail polish so much that I couldn't leave it out of this post. This crazily pink nail polish is one I've had in my collection for sometime and it only makes an appearance during the summer months. I love this polish when I'm looking to be a little bit more fun with my nail colour, although for me it's a little too daring for everyday especially with work. However I do love to rock this colour on my toe nails. I find you can be a little more adventurous when it comes to choosing your toe nail colour! Again this colour looks great if I have a tan, for some reason it doesn't work for me when I'm feeling a little pale - But overall I love it.

I feel like everyone has a preference in nail colour choices in the summer and as you can see my go to shades are pinks with a mix of bolds and pastels. I would love to know what your summer nail choices are and what your favourite nail polish is right now? Let me know in the comments.

Makeup Revolution Amazing Lip Liners || Review & Swatches

Makeup Revolution Amazing Lip Liners - Review and swatches
Makeup Revolution Amazing Lip Liners - Review and swatches

Hi everyone, I hope your all having a lovely bank holiday weekend! I've actually been so exited to get this post up for you today because as a lot of you know I love lipsticks! Recently I have been obsessed with lip liners and finding the perfect shades to match my favourite lipsticks. Now that I've started lining my lips (Thanks Kylie Jenner) I can't stop and my lips don't look nearly as full without it.

Whilst I've made it my own personal mission to find those must having winning lip liners, I was beyond excited to hear that one of my favourite makeup brands Makeup Revolution have released eight gorgeous lip liners of their own and I was lucky enough to get my hands on them - Cue excitement!! I'm sure you all know by now but some of my favourite lipsticks are from Makeup Revolution (Ken Will Want Me - I'm looking at you!) Its great that Makeup Revolution have not only brought out some amazing shades to wear with your favourite lipsticks, but liners that will also match some of their lipsticks perfectly.

Before I go into detail as to why I love each shade I think it's important to go over why these lip liners are so fantastic. First of all I love the design of them, the pencils are coloured to match the exact shade of the liner which makes it easy to grab first thing in the morning. Secondly the pencil sharper on the lid of the pencil is just genius! There is nothing worst that using a blunt pencil, so it's really handy having one of the top of the lid.

As for the quality of the lip liners, I can honestly say I'm amazed especially as they only cost £1.00 each - Such a bargain. Each lip liner is fairly creamy, super pigmented and isn't too drying on your lips either. This combination makes the lip liners so good as they can be worn just to draw the outline of your lips or be worn all over the lip.

Starting with the lightest shades in the collection, 'The One' and "Nearly Naked' are not shades that I would want to wear all over my lips as they are incredibly light. The One is the only nude lip liner in the collection and it really is a pale nude and works great with all my light toned nudes, especially Mac's Honeylove. I really love that Makeup Revolution already have a nude toned lipstick called 'The One' which is the exact same shade as this liner, these two together really do make the perfect nude lip. The light pink shade (bottom) is called 'Nearly Naked'. I've not used this yet as it's such a pale milky pink, it almost looks white. I don't wear lipsticks this light so I would have to say it's my least favourite, however for such a light shade its incredibly pigmented.

The next two shades are what I would call the girly girl pinks and they are the perfect liners to match any pretty girl pink lipsticks in your collection. The top picture shows off 'Baby Pink' and the name for this lipliner describes the shade perfectly, it really is such a soft pink. The bottom picture is 'Soft Pink' which is probably one of my favourites in the collection as it's such a soft blue toned pink and works with so many different lipsticks, especially Mac's chatterbox.

Another two lipliners which really stand out for me in the collection are 'Bold Pink' (top) and 'Cherry Red' (bottom). These two lipliners are stunning and look amazing on, especially Cherry Red. I would describe 'Cherry Red' as a bright pink fuchsia and it looks so gorgeous on, it reminds me a little bit of Mac's Impassioned. As for 'Bold Pink' again the name describes this shade perfectly, it's a really fun vibrant bubblegum pink with blue undertones. I have a lot of lipsticks in these two colours so I know I'm going to get so much use out of these liners.

The darkest shades in the collection are 'Rebel' (top) and 'Vamp' (bottom). I have to say it's so nice to be able to add some darker pink/purple toned lip liners to my collection. I think it's always best to use a lip liner with darker lipstick and these two shades are so perfect, I know I'm going to be able to pair them with so many lipsticks. Rebel is a deep pinky purple shade and it reminds me a little bit of Mac's rebel. I don't own it (yet) but I think if you did this would pair beautifully with it. As for 'Vamp' OMG it's gorgeous! During winter I love wearing berry toned lipsticks so Vamp I'm sure will come in handy and become a favourite towards the end of the year.

As you can see these amazing lip liners are amazing! I'm so pleased Makeup revolution finally released them as they have so many lipcticks, it's great to be able to find the matching lipliners to some of the shades. I really hope that MR add a few reds, corals and oranges to the collection too as I feel it's missing these and I do love wearing a red lip! Like I said earlier the quality of these liners are amazing and for £1.00 you can't go wrong!

I would love to know what your thoughts are on these lip liners? What shades will you be picking up? Let me know in the comments below.

Makeup Revolution Salvation Intense Lacquers || New Shades

The Makeup Revolution Salvation Lip Lacquers have been around for a little while now, so some of you are probably familiar with its rich intense and ultra glossy formula. If you've had some of these lip lacquers in your collection, you'll be pleased to know that Makeup Revolution have added four new shades to the line and they are quite simply gorgeous.

First of all what I really love about these lip lacquers has to be that they feel so lovely on your lips. Often a worry with having a lip product so glossy and shiny is that it can be sometimes sticky. However as shiny as these are, they're not really sticky and make such a comfortable wear. The only time I notice any stickiness is when I get that dreaded bit of long hair which has landed onto my lips because of the wind - Haven't we all been there? For more of a lip gloss product, they actually keep my lips pretty hydrated and its really nice wearing them this time of year, especially when my lips are prone to getting dry.

I absolutely love the smell of these lip lacquers, whilst they're not overpowering in scent, you do get a lovely warm vanilla smell coming though which is always great when applying them. The best thing about them though has to be the colour payout - Oh my gosh guys, the colour you get when using these is just amazing. Whilst they are not totally opaque like the Lip Lava's that I reviewed the other week (here) they are not as sheer as a gloss, which is great if you're not completely great with wearing super bright colours. You can definitely build up the intensity of these lip lacquers which is great.

As for lasting time, the gloss won't last hours on end, which is to be expected for such a glossy formula. Even though the gloss fades, the colour definitely doesn't and as wear time goes on you're still left with a lovely stain that has faded evenly.

Left to Right - Depravity, Rebel, Barley There & Paparazzi

Depravity is probably the most daring shade out of the new releases in this collection just because it's such a bold bright lilac shade. It's definitely one of those perfect colours if you're looking to make a statement lip. I find that this lilac has a slight grey undertone to it though, which my camera doesn't pick up - So if you love wearing cool toned eye shadows, especially silvers or greys this lip lacquer will work amazingly with it.

Out of all the shades, Rebel has to be my favourite and probably the lip lacquer I'm getting the most wear out of. Whilst it's still winter I'm still making the most out of the berry red lip and Rebel really is the perfect shade. I would describe it as a cool toned berry shade that has pink tones to it. It actually reminds me a little bit if MAC's Rebel just a lot more glossier.

Barley There is the nude of the group and I love it. I'm a little obsessed with nude shades at the moment, which is quite unlike me as I'm normally one to choose bright colours all the time. Barley There is the perfect brown toned nude that really gives you that 'your lips, but better' look. It's great for everyday and really wearable. If you're looking for something subtle in terms of colour, but something with great shine, Barley There will be perfect for you.

Paparazzi is that stunningly bright hot pink shade that just screams out summer and I know it's one of those shades I'll reaching for non stop when that time of year comes around. I love how this bright barbie pink lip lacquer has blue undertones to it, so it does that little trick of making your teeth look a lot whiter too. Combined that and a tan and oh my gosh, you will look amazing!

So there you have it, the new Salvation Intense Lacquer shades! Beautiful don't you think? If your planning on adding any of these to your collection, let me know in the comments below.
