I feel like perfume is on a lot of peoples shopping list, especially this time of year - Christmas is just around the corner and I know a lot of you are well under way with your Christmas shopping. I'm feeling very proud of myself this year as nearly all of my Christmas shopping is complete... yay. If you are struggling, a safe bet is picking up some fragrance for someone special. I know its the type of present I always appreciate unwrapping and who doesn't love displaying pretty perfume bottles on their dressing table? Recently I've been trying out the new fragrance from Michael Bublé - By Invitation Peony Noir* and I'm here to tell you it's definitely one that you want to be adding to your Christmas wish lists.
It's all about the scent; I think when choosing the perfect fragrance for yourself or for someone else, the scent has to be spot on and it can be so hard to get right. As someone who is usually quite fussy with scents, I can honestly say that this one is right up my street and I think it would appeal to a lot of people. Peony Noir is described as a romantic fragrance that has a beautiful mix of sweet Rose and Orange Blossom, with base notes of Sandalwood and Cedarwood. This perfume has quite a strong sweet smell as soon as its sprayed onto the body, but after a couple of minutes those rich creamy smells of the sandalwood and Cedarwood come through - The two scents combined are just dreamy, feminine and really romantic.
One thing that I really look for in a fragrance is for its longevity. It's a really bug bear when you spend money on fragrance and the smell only lasts a matter of minutes. Good news girls, Peony Noir is really long lasting so much so that I only need to spray it on once for it to last most of the working day. Whenever I've worn this I'm always getting compliments and people asking what fragrance I'm wearing and that's when you know you've found a good trusty perfume that you can rely on.
Simple but elegant; One thing that influences my decision when buying a new fragrance is the packaging. I fully understand that you could have the most stunning perfume bottle in the world, but the fragrance could be awful or not to your taste, so you can't go on packaging alone BUT if it catches my eye then more than likely I want it on my dressing table. The Michael Bublé Peony Noir bottle is simple, elegant and I think it represents the scent of the fragrance perfectly. I love the black ombre bottle and the pink rose detailing on the bottle is beautiful and matches the accessories on my dresser perfectly - It's a perfume that's on display and easily in reach.
I personally think this perfume is gorgeous and for me it ticks all of the boxes. I love the romantic sweet smell of this fragrance; Its feminine and elegant and would make a great one for the evenings, but I love it so much that I'm wearing it all day everyday. If you're struggling on what to gift this Christmas, I would grab a pen and paper now and put this one at the top of your list. You can buy Peony Noir directly from Michael Bublé website here - It retails at £42.00 for 100ml which I think is really reasonsable for such a beautiful fragrance.
Have you tried any of the fragrances from Michael Bublé? Let me know which is your favourite?
