Before I get into this post and dive into the everyday contents of my makeup bag, I just want to point out how pretty my new makeup bag is! As you know I love anything that have mermaid vibes written all of them (check out my mermaid makeup brushes here). I saw this gorgeous iridescent bag sat on the shelves in my local primary and my first thought was I have to have that. I just think its so pretty in all its blue and purple shininess... Its so lush. I bought this not really needing any new makeup bags as I own far too many, but just because I thought it looked gorgeous; does anyone else do this? I love it so much that I am currently using it as my regular everyday makeup bag and to be fair its actually a really generous size and fits everything that I use on a day to day basis. Now I've wowed you all with my makeup bag, lets see what treasures this beauty holds inside.
Starting with my base, I am obsessed with primer and my favourite and go to one is the Photo Finish Primer from Smashbox. I do apologise that this primer is looking a little bit sorry for itself, as you can see its well loved and its now on its last legs! This is by far the best primer that I've ever tried. It actually makes my makeup last all day and has a magical way of making my foundation looking flawless. I've tried a few of the other Smashbox primers but the original one is by far the best.
Revlon Color Stay Foundation
I've mentioned this foundation so many times on my blog over the years, but thats because its that good! For the longest of time its been my everyday go to foundation. It's cheap, flawless and has a great matte finish, which is great if you're like me and suffer with oily skin. I know I can put this on in the morning and not have to worry about my foundation for the rest of the day and you know you have a winner when you can do this with a foundation.
Chanel Soleil Tan De Chanel Bronze Universal
This is actually a fairly recent addition to my makeup bag. I've been wearing this non stop everyday for just over a month now and I'm so in love. I actually can't believe it took me this long to try this cult beauty product. Honestly the Soleil Tan De Chanel is a real game changer and just gives my skin the most gorgeous holiday skin look. I'm an avid fake tanner, so this works perfectly at making your tan look more realistic as whenever I pop this on I look like I've just come back from holiday (I wish). I won't go into too much detail as I have a full review coming up of this very soon.
Mac Wash & Dry Blush Hipness
I love blush in the summer, I think it adds a lovely warmth to my skin. My all time favourite blush is from the Mac Wash & Dry collection in the shade Hipness. It honestly makes me so sad that this blush is limited edition as its just so pretty. I think its actually my favourite blusher of all time, so I feel that I have to be limited when I use it. Sob story aside, if Mac ever re release this in another collection, you HAVE to get your hands on it; you won't regret it I promise.
NYX High Definition Blush Intuition
This is another gorgeous blush that I've been loving recently. NYX blushers are just amazing and I adore the packaging of this one, the bow detailing is just beautiful. This blush is so pretty on and when I first swatched it, it instantly reminded me of Nars Orgasm. I love the rose gold shimmers in this blush and I love using it when I want to add some rosiness so my cheeks.
Sleek Contouring Palette
When it comes to contouring, I'm always swapping and changing my products around. I think I should decicate a whole post to my fave products beaucse there are that many. However the Sleek Contouring Palette always stands out for me. For such a big palette I only really use two out of the three shades; the gorgeous highlight in the middle and the shimmery bronze shade at the end.
NYX Tame and Frame Brow Pomade
The Tame and Frame Brow Pomade from NYX definitely helps me get a good brow game, and we all know how important that is right? lol. This is supposedly a really good dupe for the ABH Dip Brow, which I'm really desperate to try. As much as I want to get my hands on it, I'm more than happy to settle with my Tame and Frame now now as its just such a lovely product to use. This gel really helps to define and shape my brows, I love it.
Soap & Glory Archery Volu-Boost Brow Fibre Gel
Sticking with brows, I love to also use the Soap & Glory Archery Volu-Boost Brow Fibre Gel (wow what a mouth full!). This is a fab dupe for Benefits Gimme Brow, it just has a much friendly price tag. I really hate those sparse eyebrows towards the centre of my brow and this little miracle product sorts that right out. The effect is actually really natural looking brows and the fact that its waterproof is just a huge bonus. No chance of the rain washing these brows away hehe.
Elizabeth Arden Mascara Lash Extending Treatment Mascara
I have to say when it comes to mascara, I'm not loyal and if I'm completely honest not really bothered about. I think I've given up on trying to find the holy grail mascara (anyone else with me there). I literally pick a new one up when my last one has had its day and try another one. I've tried and tested so many I can't actually remember whats good and whats bad anymore lol. I do however quite like this one from Elizabeth Arden, it makes my lashes look really fluttery and I love how the wand does a great job at coating every lash. One of my favourite things about this one is that you can really build it up without things looking too clumpy. I don't know if I love it enough to repurchase it, but I'm really enjoying using it.
Lancome Grandiose Eyeliner
The Grandiose Eyeliner from Lancome is just so revolutionary and I love it. You would think after 14 years of applying eyeliner that I would have the flick mastered by now; your wrong, very wrong. Its the one beauty thing that I still find so hit and miss. Some days I have it and others I just look like a panda. This eyeliner makes the task a lot easier with its bendable wand. Pretty much every time I use this, I have a flick that looks decent and that I'm pretty proud of and thats really saying something. I just love this liner so much and I don't think I can ever live without it.
NYX Lip Lingeire Lipsticks Embellishment & Bedtime Flirt
When it comes to lipstick, I'm forever swapping and changing things around. No lipstick stays permanently in my makeup bag as I love too many and when it comes to makeup, lipsticks are my weakness. However, I'm still obsessed with my nudes and you can pretty much guarantee that whatever lipstick is in my bag is a pink or brown toned nude. The two that I've been reaching for the most recently are of course my NYX Lip Lingerie Lipsticks in the shades Bedtime Flirt and Embellishment. I won't go into detail as to why I love these lippies so much as I talk about them non stop. Take a look at my full review and swatches of them here.
Mac Velvet Teddy
Velvet Teddy was the nude lipstick that kickstarted my nude obsession. It was love at very first swatch and I still love it just as much to this day. I think Velvet Teddy will be a forever favourite and I'm always reaching for it on a weekly basis. As you can see its extremely well loved and I really need to think about picking a new one up.
So there we have it the contents of my makeup bag. Let me know what your makeup bag essentials are?
Mac velvet teddy is in my everyday makeup bag too! Andddd I forgot how much I love the Revlon Colourstay xx
ReplyDeleteI've heard so much about that eyeliner, I need to try it! Nyx lingerie lippies are amongst my favs!
