Thoughtful Post | Update

Image from weheartit

Hello you wonderful lot. I thought that this would be a perfect time just to give you all a little update on Miss Sunshine and Sparkle. It's been ages since I last did a little random chit chat post and seeing as the football is on, I thought it would be perfect time to escape to my blog and talk to you beauty babes.

To start off with, a few of you may have noticed that I've not really blogged much this month. I really have no idea why this is, as there's been nothing physically wrong with me. Do you ever get that feeling where you feel that you simply do not have enough hours in the day? Well I've just found that I've been a bit wrapped up in everyday things and not given enough time to my blog. My only conclusion for this is that I started a blog, got seriously addicted and neglected other aspects of my life for a while and everything eventually caught up with me.

However beauties, do not fear as I've taken sometime to get myself a lot more organised and you will see regular posts on here and a much faster response to all your comments that you leave. I read every single one and you have no idea how happy it makes me. I think it's my right and duty as a blogger to respond to them all!

Which leads me onto my Mac Giveaway. I am truly overwhelmed by the response I've gotten and I'm so pleased that all of you are loving it and the effort you have gone too. Every time I get a Tweet or see a blog post  advertising the giveaway I'm touched. I really wish that I could give every single one of you followers a special gift to say thank you (in an ideal world). I'm excited to announce the winner in April and I wish all of you the best of luck. If you've still not entered you can find the giveaway on the link below.

I have so many ideas for blog posts beauties and I'm looking forward to sharing them with you and of course I would love to have you on board and get you readers involved. Miss Sunshine and Sparkle will always be a blog based on beauty and fashion, but I want to start making the experience and read much more fun and interactive so expect to see some new kinds of posts in the future!

If you have any suggestions, or would just like to have a beauty chit-chat I would love to hear from you, feedback is so important and I take everything on board. Although were already full swing into 2012 I can't help but feel that good things are in store, especially for me and my little blog. If you would like to send me an email beauties, remember you can always reach me directly at

Take care lovelies and have a great evening.

Rio Professional Nail Art Kit | Review

Hello Beauties! The other week I was a very lucky beauty blogger and was kind enough to be sent a Professional Nail Art Kit from Rio. As you all know I have a serious addiction to nail polish and anything that allows you to get creative with your nails. In the past I have always gave my best shot at nail art with make shift items found lying around the house and to be honest failed quite miserably. So when a lovely lady from Rio Beauty asked if I would like to try out the Nail Art kit I was super excited and thought that at last I would be able unleash my creativity and produce some fancy designs on my nails with the aid of famous nail art pen!

The nail art kit comes nicely packed in a small box (around the size of a DVD boxset). Let me tell you lovelies I was amazed at how many products were contained into this box when I unwrapped it all. The kit contains eight nail art pens which feature double ended applicators, a design chart of nail art designs for some inspiration, rhinestone gems, glitter, a step-by-step DVD, an information booklet and a brush to paint your nails with.

The double ended applicator nail art pens in
Black | Purple | Coral | Pink
Blue | White | Orange | Yellow

Rhinestones & Gold Glitter

DVD, Information Booklet, Nail Brush & Nail Art Designs

As you can see there is loads in this kit which can keep you entertained for hours and all for a bargain £24.99 which you can purchase at www.riobeauty.co.uk.  Rio have four different kits which are available in their nail art collection - Original, Metallic, Neon and Pastels. Spring/Summer trends are all about the bright colours right now so I opted for the Neon Kit.

Like I said, I've never been too great when it comes to doing nail art designs on my own nails, but the Rio Kit has certainly given me some incentive to start practising more with designs. I was really pleased with how easy the pens are to use and with a steady hand you can produce detailed designs on your nails.

Each brush has a double ended applicator which can be used for different design techniques. At the top you have a detailing pen which is makes a great dotting tool, and a the bottom you have a super fine line brush which can be used for lines, straight or wavy.

I was so pleased with how easy this was to use, especially the use of the detailing pen. The polish comes out slowly with a gentle squeeze of the bottle and doesn't apply clumpy. If at anytime it does become clogged though the polish drying, Rio have concealed a small pin at the bottom of each polish which can be used to un-clog the pen. The fine line brush was also easy to use, but I failed miserably when it come to painting my nails using my non writing hand. But as they say 'practice makes perfect'.

The DVD did come handy, and I thought that adding this in was a lovely touch to the kit. It gives beginners like me a step-by-step guide on how to produce all different designs with your nail art kit, including the more intricate designs.

Overall I'm super impressed with Professional Nail Art Kit from Rio, its great for beginners, nail art lovers and even the beauties who are a whizz at nail art already. I can't fault the brushes in any way and the actual polish that comes out is a true representation of what you see in the bottle.

Being  a huge fan of anything animal print, especially the classic leopard print design, I really wanted to master leopard print nails. I used the black and blue nail art pens in the Rio kit and I am so thrilled with the outcome that I had to show you lovelies!

I hope you enjoyed this review beauties, if you fancy getting this nail art kit or any other things from Rio Beauty (they have some amazing nail art foils on their site too) you can find it all here at-

Take care lovelies and be sure to keep checking for new nail art designs!

This Girls Gotta Have Em | Lipsy

Hello beauties. First of all I would like to apologize that 'This Girls Gotta Have Em' post is a day late. Without going into too much detail I've not been feeling my best this week and I didn't think it would be fair to write up a post when my heart and soul wasn't projected into it.

However onto better news... I can't tell you how excited I am about this weeks post, I can honestly say I am in love with every single item and you have no idea how much I am wanting each and everything shown in the pictures. I know I will be speaking for many here when I say 'I wish money were no object'.  Today's post will be looking at Lipsy, a fashion store which I adore, for me it optimises everything girlie and feminine and you will see in this post there is a lot of pink. So if dainty dresses, dusty pink and gorgeous detail is your thing, please do read on.

From Left to Right

Lipsy V.I.P Rouched Bust Dip Dye Prom Dress £120.00

This beautiful prom style dress was the first thing that I noticed on the Lipsy website, and OMGosh I fell in love with it in an instant and it inspired the rest of this post. The dress has a lovely sweetheart shape around the bust detailed with gorgeous jewels and embroidery. This of course is not your everyday dress (although I would prance around with it on in the house just for fun), but for my younger readers who are going to a prom this year, this dress would be perfect OR if you had a very special occasion coming up and wanted to go all out you would certainly have all eyes on you!

Lipsy Fluffy Sequin Batwing Jumper £35.00

I am a fan of the batwing style jumper and I like the fact that this one has a snug fit style which creates body shape. This jumper would look perfect for afternoon tea with the girls. I love the sequined and pearl bow at the top as it just makes the whole look very feminine

Lipsy Pretty Trio Ring £8.00

Like most of us beauties, I love rings and I saw this and thought it was very dainty. All of the clothing picked out in today's post are true statement pieces, but still need some sort of jewelry paired with them and I thought that this ring would be perfect.

Lipsy V.I.P Flower Bust Maxi Dress £130.00

I love the look of this maxi dress (unfortunately not the price) and it just looks so summery and very easy to wear with its floral bust line. This dress calls for so many occasions and would be fabulous to wear on a summers eve.

Lipsy Flower Beaded Mesh Top £38.00

I just adore the amount of detail that is packed into one top, and the design of this sheer fabric top is gorgeous! There are so many sequins and beads which details around the centre and bottom hem of the top. If you love anything that sparkles you will love this. Paired with a nude vest underneath and some skinny jeans would create the perfect look.

Lipsy Peep Toe Wedge £85.00

These wedge shoes really gets me excited. I am in love with them!! I think most of us girlies will agree that the wedge is the most easiest type of heel to wear and these ones are beautiful. Nude is the new black and I've not seen a wedge shoe that is a lovely as this and in the colour nude. If you had a wedding to go to this year these are the shoes you are wanting to be wearing. They also come in black and super sparkly gold.

Lipsy Embroidered Tutu Skirt £50.00

This skirt is such a girlie skirt. It's pink, has stunning embroidery, a ribboned waistband and is in the style of a tutu. What more can I say?

Lipsy Glitter Box Bag £30.00

The perfect clutch for an evening party and would match perfectly with all the lovely things picked out into today's post. It has a oyster metallic shine and the opening features as diamante design.. Beautiful!

I hope you enjoyed today's post girlie's, I know that there was a lot of pink and very dainty things, but I really love this style of clothing and thought it would be great to share. Lipsy have so many gorgeous things on their website that will suit all different tastes which you can see at www.lipsy.co.uk/

Like always I would love to know your thoughts beauties.

Please note all images have been taken from the Lipsy website and all links have been attached.

Denman D3 Purple Zebra Brush | Review

Hello beauties. I'm sure you will all agree that everyone needs a good hairbrush in their life and throughout many points in the day we need to get rid of knots to make our hair look perfectly polished, especially those of you who are like me and have long hair!

Recently a lovely lady at Denman asked me if I would be interested in trying out the Denman D3 Purple Zebra Brush. She must have known that my normal everyday brush was on the way out and couldn’t have asked me at a better time. I've heard so many great things about the classic D3 brush in the beauty world; I was extremely excited to try it out for myself.

My first impressions looking at the Denman D3 has to be the gorgeous purple zebra design. I adore anything animal print and this design is fun, bright and really stands out on your beauty vanity. If purple is not your colour, Denman also have the zebra design in classic black and white, electric blue or funky pink, you can find all designs here.

As for a hairbrush goes, the Denman D3 Brush works wonders and does the job perfectly. It glides though my hair (knots and all) like a dream and is really kind to your locks. I don't feel that my hair is breaking in anyway which is a problem I've found with other hairbrushes. One thing that I noticed right away when I stared using the Denman D3, was that there was hardly any hair matted in the brush once I finished using it. It feels lovely using a brush that doesn't pull your hair out!

Here's what Denman have to say about the D3 brush

'Is ideal for any hair length or type, it includes the famous Denman half-round pad to give maximum grip and control, and seven rows of our famous nylon pins, making it the perfect partner for blow-drying, smoothing, shaping and polishing hair.'

Another thing which I’ve been loving about the Denman D3 Brush has to be the 'anti-static rubber pad', it really does make a big difference when brushing and blow-drying your hair. I suffer with really thin fine hair and used to dread brushing my hair during the day, in fear of my head looking like a ball of frizz. Anything that helps to combat fizz gets huge thumbs up from me. Denman Brushes are 'The Hairdressers Hairbrush' and if it’s good enough for the professionals, it’s certainly good enough for us beauties!

The D3 Purple Zebra Brush retails for £8.68 each and with this purchase you get a high quality hairbrush, with an amazing design and a bush which will last you a very long time if looked after well.

You can find the zebra design and all the other Denman goodies at:

I hope you enjoyed this review lovelies and I would love to know your thoughts or which Denman design is your favourite.

February Favourites

Hello beauties. During the month of February I had a load of products I was in love with and thought it would be great to share with you all what they were. Some of the products you will have seen in recent reviews, so I shall link the posts so you can have some more information about those products. This is the first time that I have done a monthly favourites post, I don't know why its taken me so long to do it as I love reading these kind of posts! I'll stop rambling now and just get straight too it!

From Left to Right
Mac Mineralize Skin Finish in Soft and Gentle | Aussie Luscious Long Leave-In Conditioner | Toni & Guy Casual Sea Salt Spray | Avon Colour Trend Pencil in Brown | No7 Blossoming Lip & Cheek Duo by Poppy King | Fearne Cotton Red Polish

Mac Mineralize Skin Finish in Soft and Gentle

I picked this up mid February and I think its one of the best makeup purchases that I've made in a long while. Its quite simply the best highlighter I've ever used and it really works wonders on making your skin look radiant and fresh! This is definitely a product for you natural beauties out there. I've done a full review of Soft and Gentle MSF,so if your interested in knowing more and seeing swatches have a look here!

Aussie Luscious Long Leave-In Conditioner

I am in love with the Aussie Luscious Long Leave-In Conditioner. I bought this before Christmas and have used it every time that I've washed my hair. I have very fine hair that's prone to getting greasy very quickly, but I still use this alongside my normal conditioner. It doesn't make my hair feel dirty at all, just very smooth and super soft to the touch. I am planning on doing a full review this leave in conditioner so I wont go into too much detail, but I will say that it is my secret to having amazing hair!

Toni & Guy Casual Sea Salt Spray

If you've been reading my blog a little while then you will know that I recently did a review on the Toni & Guy Casual Sea Salt Spray which you can read here. I've been super busy this month and have not had the time spare to straighten my hair, so I've been going for a natural wave look with my instead. The sea salt spray really helps to define those waves and gives your hair that lovely beach look.

Avon Colour Trend Pencil in Brown

This eyeliner from Avon was kindly given to me by my future mother-in-law as she knew I was on the hunt for a good pencil that I could use to fill in my eyebrows. Its from the Colour Trend Range, which I believe is the makeup range Avon have for teenagers. Therefore its super affordable and it really does do the job, It's not too soft and is a buildable colour that really lasts. Although I use it for my eyebrows, I've tried it as an eyeliner also and it works great.

No7 Blossoming Lip & Cheek Duo by Poppy King

The No7 Blossoming Lip & Cheek Duo by Poppy King has been my go-to blush and lip colour this month. I love it so much that I did want to do a review for you all, but I don't think its in the No7 permanent collection as it was in a Christmas Box Set. But if I see it online I will be sure to let you beauties know. I got this for my mum at Christmas and she gave it back to me this month as she didn't get along with it (thanks mum! I know you read this). If your in the UK then you will know that the weather has been a bit up and down this month, but we have had some lovely days which has defiantly gotten me in the mood for Spring and the  Poppy King Duo looks amazing on, and is a great look for Spring. If you would like to see it on you can see a FOTD here

Fearne Cotton Red Polish

The Fearne Cotton red polish has been my go-to colour this month. I think its the perfect classic red colour and it looks beautiful on. If you would like to see a NOTD and review of this gorgeous polish then you can read about it here.

I hope you enjoyed reading this post lovelies and I would love to hear what you have been loving this month.

Peaches and Clean | Soap and Glory Review

Hello beauties! A little while ago I was on the hunt a new facial cleanser, which I found and hauled for you lovely lot here. The cleanser I picked out was Peaches and Clean 4-in-1 Wash Off Deep Cleansing Milk by the famous Soap and Glory and I thought it was about time that I did a review for you all!

Now first things first, I have really enjoyed using this cleanser, as you can see from the pictures I've nearly used all of it. I adore the packaging as it looks fabulous standing there proud in the bathroom and the smell is defiantly peachy. As soon as you pump this cleanser on to your hand you get a strong whiff of peach, so if you like peaches then you'll love this.

Peaches and Clean states clearly on the bottle to achieve four different things:

1. Helps to purify and deep clean
2. Give you a clearer and brighter complexion
3. To help your T-Zone area with its special T-Zone formula
4. Melt away any makeup

If you go on what's written on the bottle it sounds amazing and I after testing this product thoroughly I can honestly say it was! After a week of using this product morning and night I could see that my skin was defiantly clearer and brighter. At 24 my skin has calmed down with spots and blackheads but I have oily skin so I am never spot free, Peaches and Clean has defiantly reduced the amount of spots that appear especially at that awful time of the month where I tend to get major breakouts. Its also helped close some of those pores around my T-Zone and help to combat the oily parts of my skin which gets a huge thumbs up from me.

As for melting away makeup, which is something every beauty addict needs her cleaner to do, I found that it wasn't the best. But I don't know if this was because my expectations were so high. Soap and Glory have written boldly at the top of the bottle 'Melts Away Makeup' I was expecting my makeup just to fall off with one wash but I needed to wash my face twice thoroughly before all makeup was completely gone. However it does say on the back of the bottle to repeat the process if needed. Once repeated all your makeup has disappeared.

Although it didn't remove my makeup in one wash, I've found it's done a lot better than other cleansers I've had in the past and in a way its always best to wash your face twice as if there's makeup on your skin when you first wash it, you are rubbing it all around your face which isn't nice.

Normally in cleansers I don't go for a milk based formula as I don't always feel as though they have cleaned my skin thoroughly, but every time I've used Peaches and Clean my face has felt clean and smooth. I have very sensitive skin and this has caused no irritations whatsoever.

I will defiantly be buying this cleanser again. The only thing I wish Soap and Glory would do to make this product a bit better is to make the pump tube a little longer so I can easily get this last bit of product out the bottle!

I hope you enjoyed this review lovelies and I hope you have a fantastic weekend.
