It's been a long time since I found a mascara worthy of a review for my blog. Mascara has to be that one makeup item that just seems to be impossible to get right and I very rarely repurchase the same one twice - With so many different ones to choose from, it feels like I'm forever searching for my holy grail mascara. With that being said, I have been using a mascara recently that I know will make its way into my basket during my next trip to Boots. The mascara that I've fallen a little bit in love with recently is the Maybelline Colossal Go Extreme Volum Mascara.
When it comes to mascara, I love a wand and formula that will provide my lashes with tonnes of volume. As I have quite long lashes already, I love creating a false lash effect with my mascara; The more volume the better! I always find that mascara wands that have a thick bristle brush always do the best job and really help to coat all of my lashes to add as much volume as possible. The bristles on this wand are fairly thick, with a dome in the centre that thins out towards the end. The design of this brush makes it really easy to coat each lash with precision, especially the lashes that are harder to reach in towards the inner corners of the eye. However the only downside is that the brush can feel a little clumsy until you get used to its thickness.
A for the actual mascara, I love effect it creates on my lashes. The mascara leaves them looking really full and almost creates that false lash effect, which I love. I only need to use one coat to see a difference, but I actually prefer applying two coats as it just creates a little more drama and volume.
One plus point with this mascara is that I wasn't expecting it to add any length, but I find it makes my lashes appear longer which is a huge plus. I think its rare to find a good mascara that can do both things, adding volume and length - But the Maybelline Colossal Go Extreme has everything you could ask for. Another huge plus for me is that the packaging is super girly and cute - I just love the brightness of it.
It's been a long time since I tried anything from Maybelline, they were my go to makeup brand in my teens, but this mascara has reminded me that they do have some amazing products and that I really need to try more of what they have to offer. I will definitely be picking up this mascara again!
Have you tired this mascara? What are your thoughts on Maybelline product? Let me know in the comments.
Lots of Love
